Oddly enough I've just come here to whinge about the OAP in the Jazz doing no more than 20 MPH on a perfectly safe NSL road this morning during rush hour - causing huge tailbacks.

Same person?
Worth noting registration number & reporting to Plod, citing obstructive driving with suspicion that driver may have eyesight issues thus endangering the public?

Raised a chuckle with me, too. Far too many idiots parking betwixt the road and the tidal Thames there. Are they really surprised when they get (at best) water in the footwell, or (at worst) a third party damage claim when a luxury cruiser gets holed by their floating hazard to navigation?

Best of all was this comment below the story, though...

Now, this is a tough one... how are you going to blame this on cyclists.....?

Not the worst thing in the world but in a private car park tucked away right at the back is my Golf R. Went out this morning and found an open salt packet stuck to the side of it, last nights rain also didn't help. What is wrong with people...

Could have been a lot worse, I've came back to my R twice now in the NCP by the station here and someone has thoughtfully reversed into it. frown

Latest craze round here seems to be cocksockets indicating right to go straight on (or in fact anything except first exit) at roundabouts. Bonus for being in the left lane of a multi-lane roundabout so you're not sure if they're about to kamikaze across or not...

That is standard practice in France.

This clown:

The oncoming traffic had a bear of a time getting past him after exiting the roadworks area, he was right up to where the temporary traffic light was.

The idiot today who came across a t/light controlled junction, and when the lights changed was stuck in the middle of the junction, as he didn't take account of the cars in front
And when people hoot at him for blocking the junction, he just waves his hands like there is nothing he can do, and its not his fault!
Try leaving a gap before entering a junction you moron

Idiots on the M25 ignoring the red X lane closure sign, causing chaos and an hour delay for everyone else. A special place in hell is reserved for those who deliberately move into the lanes with a white arrow to designate an upcoming lane closure, then charge right down to the cones, ignoring the red cross, just to get a few minutes jump on everyone else.

There should have been a police car pulling them (or at least snapping photos of them to fine them later).
does the X mean "this lane is closed" or does it mean "this lane is closed somewhere ahead"
It means you should not be driving any further in that lane.

It's almost as if we need a book or something.....some sort of 'code' that drivers can read that instructs them on the rules of the road and the meaning behind those pretty signs and lights that are displayed everywhere.

Places like WHSmith might be interested in stocking such a book - and I guess with the way modern technology has gone over the past few years........it might also be an idea if a copy of this 'code' could be put on a website somewhere that people can access freely and at their leisure.....

What do people think - would such an idea fly scratchchin

Good idea but I doubt anyone would bother to read it once they'd got their licence!

You'd also get people reading it, making their own interpretations and then spouting forth their "expert" opinion on it all over the Internet.......

Tattooed Mouth breather in V reg Fiesta, L3 of 4, on A2 coast bound doing 50mph.

Every car that flashed him to move over or undertook was subjected to coffee beans.

Would be much easier if you just drove in the correct lane.

Is it just me or are all drivers of newish (2012 onwards) Merc A Classes complete and utter tools?

Every time I encounter one of these numpties they're either aggressively tailgating, aggressively forcing their way between lanes or hogging the outside lane.

Last night I was tailgated down a 30 road by a tit in a white A class, whom dangerously overtook on a blind hill and nearly wiped out the oncoming traffic in the process.

What's the reason for this "I've got an entry level Mercedes (most likely on PCP), move out of my superior way" mentality?

Yes, I,ve noticed this, particularly white ones!

I think its because they really do believe that the A180/200 CDI "AMG" really is the full-on AMG, not just a trim level on a boring, so-so run-around.

Same demographic as Audi A3 too, again usually white or red.

Driving right up against the crown of the road when you're in a wide lane. You know the this-could-be-four-lanes-but-we-only-had-enough-paint-for-two kinda roads.

I was tempted to undertake in protest. As I sailed past I looked over to my left, phone at the ear.

The clown(s) on the M42 last night southbound, just before the M40/M42 split at J3a. There's a caravan towing along in L1, despite very little traffic though and the hard should NOT being used as a running lane, the clown behind the caravan decides to amble past on the hard shoulder, as opposed to using L2. Then the usual monkey-see monkey-do attitude, the following few cars all did the same thing, taking to the hard should to undertake. They even all pass right underneath a bit lit sign saying "HARD SHOULDER FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY", they all carried on along the hard shoulder anyway at 70mph...

When people completely block a street to park right outside their house. It's a public road, buy a house with a drive if you're that fussed.

To the OAP driving the Black Corsa this afternoon,

If I had my way you'd be banned from driving until you can satisfactory resit a driving test. You are an utterly useless and incompetent driver. Putting the fact that you are unable to keep the vehicle within the lane to one side, your complete and utter failure to maintain an adequate speed with the traffic flow was appalling.

I had the misfortune of being behind you for several miles today and my usual journey home took an extra 15 minutes longer due to your incompetence and complete lack of ability to maintain traffic flow. See those things at the side of the road with numbers on them? Yes, that's called a "speed limit" - it means you should (ideally) aim to travel at that particular speed. The speed limits we encountered today where 30 and 40. NOT 15 and 20.

Some observations; Notice how when you're in stopped traffic, then move off and the several cars in front of you rapidly move off into the distance, leaving you behind? Yeah, that's because you're not going fast enough. 15 MPH in a 30 zone is NOT FAST ENOUGH. Now, look in your mirror, see the 8+ cars who are queued behind you, looking angry and wishing you would f*** off? Yeah, that's because you're not going fast enough - have you noticed the reoccurring theme here? YOU AREN'T GOING FAST ENOUGH.

Notice how you always seem to end up stuck at red lights? YOU AREN'T GOING FAST ENOUGH. Your sheer inability to drive at a progressive speed literally caused yourself, myself and the now growing queue of cars behind to have to stop at every single f****** light! Why? YOU AREN'T GOING FAST ENOUGH AS YOU CRAWL BETWEEN THE VARIOUS SETS OF LIGHTS at 15 MPH. Had you been going at a reasonable speed (or anything above 15 MPH for that matter) then you'd actually make progress through green lights - instead as you potter down the road you inevitably end up with the light on red.

Do the world a favour and apply for your bus pass.

Get to you did he hehe

That's 15 mins of your life you will never get back. If he was going so slowly for so many miles why were you not able to nip past him?
