Daytime.. nothing, I love them.
Mine came with an option to have the lights on all the time, so clearly I had to tick that menu setting. Why would they provide if you can't use it? My mates call them "bully lights" lol.

Seeing them come on when I unlock the car boils my fluids!......... They look so cheap & aftermarket IMO.

lights aren't both amber from different angles at the same time though...
I stand to be corrected but I think they can be. There is a traffic light controlled roundabout on my daily journey where knobs are still going through when my light is on yellow, and if you look closley you realise there is a Amber overlap.Countdown said:

I stand to be corrected but I think they can be. There is a traffic light controlled roundabout on my daily journey where knobs are still going through when my light is on yellow, and if you look closley you realise there is a Amber overlap.Green->Amber->Red then on the opposing set
Red->Red->Red+Amber->Green
To synchronise both.

There's one near me with the same thing. I got pulled over for going through a yellow as if I had stopped I'd have got a taxi in my boot. Whilst my light was yellow, the police light was also changing to yellow so they pulled me. Eventually persuaded them to go back and check the lighting sequence and I got off. the lighting sequence still hasn't been fixed though.Jim AK said:

Being a 5 1/2 year old car mine are a bit more discreet than the current designs thankfully.
Mines 5! Pre facelift W212 E Class, those soppy drooping things in the lower grille. The knob I encountered this morning who obviously didn't want to go to work.
Three times he stopped, not slowed, stopped the traffic on the main road to let folk in from minor sideroads. The worse one being the third time when I was directly behind him and he stopped again despite there being about 200m of clear road behind me.

Same here but I have the straight design not the hockey stick so looks more discreet.
I don't recall those. My mate had a Peasant Spec E Class, plastic 'leather' but rode better than mine as it was on 16's & that had DRL's that looked like Fog lights!

People that do that need shooting. In the face.Three times he stopped, not slowed, stopped the traffic on the main road to let folk in from minor sideroads. The worse one being the third time when I was directly behind him and he stopped again despite there being about 200m of clear road behind me.

Um...
...What's wrong with running lights?
Reading through the posts, there are two possible points for debate....What's wrong with running lights?
1..DRL in themselves, as a function and as part of modern motoring.
2..The appearance of said DRL, as in design, and aesthetics.
My own thoughts are that the more illumination the better, although some makes and models could do with a bit of a design rethink.

Mine was registered February 2011. I am sure I have noticed some of the Sports models newer than mine also have the hockey shaped lights but they could be the 350CDi's. Mine is only the 220.
April 11 reg, built March 11.I'm a 220 Avantgarde too.
At least I have something to do on journeys now!!

The second was some daft bint in some sort of bright red Honda/Citroen 1 litre tin can coming around a large roundabout at speed without indicating. Yes I pulled out because A) It was clear when I looked and B) When you did appear out of nowhere at the speed of a rocket launch, I was already on the roundabout and you weren't even indicating so I just assumed you where heading straight on! C) The excessive (and rather pathetic sounding high pitched) horn beeping wasn't really necessary as I'd already cleared the roundabout before you where anywhere near me.
May I suggest you check your privilege? Perhaps next time you'll avoid racing around roundabouts at speed without indicating else I suspect that tin can will become your coffin, I'd imagine it wouldn't take much and would crumble like a cardboard box.

What privilege? That they have right of when when on the roundabout? Maybe going straight on so no need to indicate?
Sounds more like a look but didn't see or just a typical I'm going no matter what attitude from you.

Sounds exactly like that. Cut up someone on a roundabout and then blame the other driver.I hardly ever get people pulling out on me, as I'm not forcing the other road users into participating into a junction-side quiz to guess what I am thinking.
I could just keep them guessing and then loudly shout 'give way to the right' when they subsequently pull out on me, but that seems like a far more stressful alternative.
Just sayin!!
