1) But 'we' don't all follow the same rules or do the same thing on the roads, do we?
The Hundreds of posts on this thread illustrate those points very well.
2) It's outdated, vain, foolhardy and shows a poor understanding of driving in our modern motoring world, which has changed out of all recognition in recent times.

Nope, you're going to have to explain this one.Outdated? Vain? Foolhardy?!
Foolhardy to expect another driver to do something stupid as opposed to your system of trusting ALL drivers to behave and follow the rules? The rules that you've agreed we don't all follow?
Oooookay...
I expect I'll be on this bloke's dash cam this morning... I overtook a van, ample room ahead to pull back in behind a large van, then I look in my mirror and notice the van I had just overtaken was in my boot giving me the WTF hand. A shame really, as the back of his van said he installed dash cams, parking sensors, and hands free kits. I would have probably called him about a hands free kit as well. Ah well, not as bad as the bloke who overtook me (no problem with that, but I would have expected him to tuck in in front of me instead of overtaking dash cam van man up a blind corner on a hill!! His aftermarket xenons were ridiculously bright but I doubt they had Xray vision.)

"Going back a few pages his interpretation of "modern driving" is old duffers in Mercedes 4x4s. Knob "
Knobs at the movies last night. Sitting in our reserved seats with a 'They were empty, so we thought...' Of course they moved reluctantly, with giggles. HO HO!
Bridget Jones' Baby:
A funny and poignant film which is an exellent evenings light entertainment.
Lots of laughs throughout, especially in the set pieces at the festival and the newsroom.
Apart from Hugh Grant it has, with a few exceptions, the same cast, much older of course, as the previous two films. So can be viewed with some continuity. To complete the set the same director, Sharon Macguire is at the helm.
The introduction of an American, apart from Bridget, as a lead actor is a good move with an eye on the American market for what is a quintisentially British movie. I read though, that it was not a great success in the US of A.
A good meal, this film and a coffee or a drink afterwards with a river view makes a highly recommended evening out.
(four out of five stars.)

I don't mind WD39, he's an excellent troll at winding up everyone on thread. And if I have the misfortune of encountering him on the roads I'll just overtake when safe or, as he's a member of APIS, just point and laugh at him as I coast past in the empty lane while he boils his piss in the queue, being such a maverick I am.
(Also there's a dedicated sub forum for TV, films etc, knob! )

How on earth did I log on to this and then read about Bridget's Jones' Baby. Dear me! I know PH has been compared to Mumsnet, but we don't need to prove it. It expanded from TVR to general motoring interest but it was about cars on this major forum.

It was just a continuation from the 'knobs in our reserved seats' comment. Seemed a perfect time to exercise the frustrated film critic within.Edited by Lester H on Wednesday 28th September 23:31
In my defence, there are a couple of 'knob' type characters in the film.
But it's what I like about PH. You can go off piste on a thread, maybe for a couple of posts, then it's back on track. Good old PH.
