None of which is relevant to the point I made which was, why choose an anonymous name, then sign off with your real initials? As you use an anonymous username we don't know your full name so the initials are meaningless.
FTFY - need to learn to quote wink

why is a user name anonymous? its a user name not something to hide behind.

only people who are abusive need to hide on an internet forum.

i apologise for signing

i'll go read the site Ts&Cs

I also have to apologise JJ as it was me who was curious about the initials and enquired as to what they meant.

I'm sure that neither of us expected the surge of mean spirited invective that followed. Shame.silly

It's anonymous because it's not your real name.
Now, I don't care whether you want to hide behind anonymity or not, that's up to you.
But why do both? Why have, in effect, two names.

If you want to sign off a post - which in itself is unecessary as we can see who posted it - why not use your username? Why use two random letters? It's the pointlessness of it all.
If people know you away from the forum - if you've met them at a meet - no doubt you've told them that you're Fred Bloggs, username problemchild etc on the forum. They can now put two and two together.
Although maybe when you talk to someone you say "PC1976" after everything you say, so people know who you are on the forum?

The man who climbed out of his van and walked towards the blue Renault Clio parked right in front of him on a road with traffic passing and after shouting something at the driver pretended to swing what looked like a baseball bat covered in lagging at the poor guy sat in the car who was busy filming him on his phone through a dropped window, thankfully he didn't do it and walked back to his van, another nutjob who needs looking at.

Let it go...

If the speed can change, those static signs should be removed and the NSL sign should be on the overhead 'screens'. Then if the speed does change, it is up to date and doesn't conflict with any other signage.
The NSL signs are there for the roadworks. They are not permanent. The overhead signs display the variable limit. The static signs will be removed when the roadworks are complete. They don't conflict with anything as the overhead signs are a variable limit and take precedence.

ashleyman said:
As for the 'random' speed changes. I'd be happy to post dash cam footage of the incidents I'm talking about. Going from NSL to 50MPH displayed on the screens and then 200m later it's 60MPH. It's ridiculous... If I can see this sign says 50 and the next one says 60 but there is nothing in the middle of the 2 signs then the signs are wrong. If there was a person on the motorway, reduce the whole section down to 50. Don't have varying limits. It's unsafe for drivers and confusing.
It's not confusing at all. Limits change based on road conditions whether it's traffic, obastacles being reported or anything else. Just because you've seen nothing in the road doesn't mean there wasn't something there previously which has since been removed. That would also explain why the next sign shows a return to the regular limit. The signs are there for the safety of all road users, and if you struggle to see the next sign before it is too late to slow down you would do well to have your eyes checked.

I think I know why you get so angry about P&C spaces.
Please elaborate! Doubtless it'll be some kackneyed garbage about being unable to breed due to any number of reasons your sad little mind can conjure up. On the other hand I presume you have contributed to the over population of the world with a sprog or two... well done you... but then again even the dumbest of the dumb can breed... and the fact they do is why the gene pool is becoming increasingly stupid!

Seems I've touched a nerve.
What's "kackneyed"?

Look, you got very angry about the very existance of P&C spaces implying that people who had kids had no self control,

Your choice of words implied that you had kept it in your pants, perhaps for too long a period given how angry you seem to be about this (non) issue.

Disabled spaces are different as being disabled is not a choice, but contributing to the over population of the planet is!
You're right, being disabled is not a choice and spaces for disabled people should not be abused by people who don't need them. But, you should realise that if everyone followed your noble example and didn't have kids, we as a race wouldn't last long. I agree overpopulation is an issue but as people keep pointing out on this very forum when this country has very low population density so we're not there yet.

P&C spaces are there for several reasons
1. to protect YOUR car. Yes, that extra room around the P&C space means a door swung open by an unruly kid is less likely to hit your car
2. to reduce the chances of YOU hitting a child as you drive around the car park - the spaces are more likely to be next to walkways rather than open car park, meaning children get into the store safely with less risk to them and your conscience
3. to help keep prices down for ....can you see where this is going.... YOU - people with children spend more on their shopping than single people. There's no getting away from that. If a supermarket encourages people with kids to do their shop in a particular store then they'll spend more, more often. That means the supermarket can offer better prices, making shopping cheaper for you.

So, while your vow of chastity will inevitably burden the NHS at some point (blood pressure, stroke etc) your shopping experience is being made better, more relaxing if you will, thanks to P&C spaces.

Sorry for lack of swearing, although it happened at at time...

Driving towards Penrith on the A66 this morning, in the distance coming towards me, a 7.5 tonne truck, which appeared to start drifting into the other lane (towards me) - a very gradual drift. When do I start to worry? In my case it was when he was about 200m away and he was halfway over in 'my' lane and I was starting to get seriously worried - by that point it was obvious he was looking down at his phone - blew the horn for both our sakes and he clearly crapped himself, we were so close I could actually see him mouth 'f**k' and drop the phone.

Leaving aside all your other nonsense let's explore your notion that I have kept it in my pants for too long. Why does it never occur to those who choose to breed that some of us actually choose not to! As in actively choose. My wife suffered as a child due to psoriasis as did her mother... therefore we actively chose not to inflict that sort of childhood onto our kids and decided not to have any. Funny as the number of times we have both been questioned over it like we are breaking some moral code by not having kids and always those questioning are the 'proud' parent types who usually have nothing else in their sad little lives other than the ability to inflict their doubtless not too bright children upon the world. And I guess we've come full circle with that wink

I've had the questioning thing a few times (and my gf much more, since women are assumed to want kids more than men). I'm not sure why otherwise normal people think it's their duty to try to get everyone breeding.

Not just me then and you're right about women as my wife got asked over and over. I suspect they think it's some duty of theirs because a lot of them can accomplish little else of note frankly.

Currently I'm thinking the title of this thread is apt for whoever at Haymarket / PH thought it was a good idea to make the "GTI" forum skin the only one available going forward and also attempting to market it as some form of massive "improvement".
