Mave, why are you being such an obtuse knob?
Why are you trying to make it personal? I've expressed and explained my opinion in reasoned manner. If you've got an alternative opinion, why not do the same?

There is no room for opinion on this "issue". You're wrong. It's very simple.

A car entering at your 9 o'clock on a roundabout is both to your left and to your right
No, it's quite clearly to your left. He won't be approaching you from the right until he has completed at least a quarter of the roundabout.

So find me the rule that explicity makes the case. It's not in the highway code.

Ok, don't give way to traffic approaching from the right. You'll get hit eventually. Have it your way, it doesn't really bother me, you just sound like a knob

The same goes for those who leave stand passes & tickets from car shows from months ago on their dash - see also car show lanyards hanging from the rear view mirror and people that leave their allocation number written on their rear screen after going to Santa Pod. There's a suitably badly modified Impreza locally that has all of the above on it and it relates to a Japanese car show from 2015 laugh

I've been convicted of careless driving because I hit a car that pulled on to the roundabout, from my left. The argument was that she'd crossed the line before me and so was on the roundabout already, therefore I shoild have given way

Like I said to Mave, keep doing it and eventually you'll get hit from the right by someone like you smile

Presume that's because you hit her offside rather than her hitting your nearside ? Same problem as hitting someone in the rear who cuts into a previously safe gap you've left. Just drive more defensively. I'm always amazed at the discipline Americans show at 4-way halts, moving in turn according to order of arrival, would never happen in the UK with our every microsecond counts competitiveness.

Totally agree with this, driving discipline in the States make us look like a bunch of dark ages trolls. Plus they almost always err on the side of caution and defer to the other drivers when in doubt. The culture of selfish driving over here is insane.

MMMmmmm the main problem I've encountered at a 4 way stop is if the first driver is old and/or a bit timid, everyone else has to wait for them to make a move. When they don't after a while, someone usually goes F it and just goes. (And in usual PH format NO it isn't always me)!

2 on my mid morning weekly commute from Herts to Berks today.

First on r/b @ South Mimms. Red VW Up/Citigo thing piloted by some dozy Bint with her wraparound shades on, not necessary love as the weather then was like you ie Dull.

Not sure why you wanted to push out to L2 of the slip upto M25 & almost collide with my near side especially as I was more the 3/4 up the length of your underpowered scensoredt box. You then did your Kamikaze move into L2 of the M25, where you stayed for at least the mile I could see you, causing all Lorries to move into L3 to overtake you. I guess you were running about 55mph!

Then Jct 19. Cock Socket In Black Aldi S4 convertible who romped down L1 to undertake all of us continuing along M25 & then tried to take my 'safe zone' when you hadn't cleared the length of my car, there was a largish truck behind me & L3 was full?

Why do you & VW Bint dislike me or my car, are you related by anything other than being Knobs?

Blimey! I know they sometimes stocked random household goods and power tools, but the discount retailers are seriously upping their game!

For what its worth, the Highway Code is just that, ..its not law or even rules, its just a guide. Awareness and courtesy is what a lot of drivers need to learn these days. We're all just trying to get somewhere and no-one's time is more important than anyone else's.

My favourite in the HC is "..in a one way street or road, pick ANY lane to go straight on". Great one for a pub debate! Dunno if it still says that as I haven't read one since 1972.
