So I've decided the "Knob of the day" award goes to this thunder ! Who came home WHILE the road on our estate was being resurfaced, parked their car and left it there!

Yes, you read that right. They didn't forget today was road works day (we've had several reminders over the last 3 weeks) and fail to move the car, as you might think.... They actually thought it was a good idea to park in a street which was also occupied by two tarmac lorries, two transit vans, a road laying machine, a steam roller and numerous workmen in high viz! banghead

Well done retard. Now the crew has to come back and block the estate again another day, to surface the little section under your st box Vauxhall Agila furiousfurious
I am willing to bet money that when said retard comes back to their car their response will be summed up as somehow being someone else's fault! It's never them!
Keep an eye out on the local paper for an indignant-faced photo and some sort of cretinous comment about the local authority wasting money rolleyes

And the road will have a patch, an unnecessary joint which will be the most likely place for a failure (pothole) to occur in the future. Road workers wont'/can't move a car that's legally parked, which it is - it's bloody stupid, but it's legal.

Cracking photo though. hehe
Sure about that. When the boat train in Weymouth came along the road leading to the ferry, 2/3 guys would walk in front and bump cars out of the way!
Just like many other things I'm sure there's the official position (what Bob said), which is then set against the willingness of the workers to risk disciplinary action for doing the 'wrong' but entirely common-sense thing instead.

I'm sure the workers in this case would have quite happily nuked it from orbit, but all you need is one arse to report them and it's their fault, not the cretin's!

Send the photos to the local rag so the whole community can have a laugh at them.

You're going to get billed for the extra days call out by the contractors.

Call your factors and have them invoice the stbox owner for the extra day instead of just adding it to everyone in the estate's tab.

Sadly I suspect that if they were so fking self absorbed and unaware as to park there in the first place, I'm not sure they'd have cottoned on to the fact that their sheer fkwittery would necessitate the sheer amount of extra hassle/time/expense involved in the workmen having to come back.

When the instructors are knobs is it any wonder that there's a steady influx of knobs on the road?

People with cameras scattered around their car, who drive so slowly/dangerously just to try and provoke a reaction from you.

The woman in the old Pug who was swapping lanes like madwoman in the traffic tonight. She then attempted to cut the Audi A1 in front of me up, move back into her lane then just as I was moving past, she cut me up so I angrily sounded my horn to show my frustration at her. Stopped her from changing lanes for at least 7 miles. ha ha

There's a Volvo sized gap in tarmac on the side road near me ,with cones on it waiting for return of workers.

I remember seeing the car parked after the tarmaccers had finished but none underneath it.

Don't know if it occurred quite like the above .

That was the first thing that struck me; bloody lovely bit of tarmac. Sadly spoiled by a monumentally ignorant knob.

Should have continued to tarmac over the agila and flattened it with a roller.

hehe

I could have lived with, and probably come to like, the slight blue tint to the tarmac in one area of the road.

If I knew that it was because this knobs Agila now lived under the asphalt.

Some people should out be allowed out on their own! How would this one deal with a real problem?

And Car Giant has a great reputation, does it not?

"but Cargiant has made no attempt to offer me any sort of refund or compensation"

Why would you be due a refund or compensation, so far what financial loss have you incurred? They offered to correct the problem and even offered a hire car, hell they even offered to cover any fines in the process. What more do you want? Oh wait, yeah, that's not enough these days. The compo express is waiting at the station choo choo! You poor darling you must surely be due thousands for such inconvenience of making a few phone calls and rejecting perfectly reasonable solutions.

"They say they will compensate you for the stress and inconvenience if you specify a sum."

I'd like to suggest £2.50 to cover the cost of the phone calls and £15 cash towards the cost of a numberplate and the telephone number of a local Halfords, oh and perhaps a set of testicles?

I suspect the complainer is a tool of the highest order and will be claiming silly money for "stress and inconvenience". Sounds like they made the entire process difficult due to being either a massive throbber or just full retard.

Drive to garage, have new plates made up. £15 at most. Get on with life. No need to cancel travel plans, wait for managers, report to the telegraph. No need for counselling etc...

The 4 motorcyclists travelling along Grane Road between Blackburn/Haslingden this afternoon. There's a reason it has DWLs down certain stretches... it's to stop knobheads being splatted by cars and trucks coming the other way.

Juke Driver today on Southbound M6

! am on about 68 on cruise in lane 1. This was approaching in L2 for some distance back ( trainee MLM) and as they were approaching i was coming up to lorry in L1 so i put on indicator to let them know i wanted to get out.I expected either a quick 'ok' flash so i could get around and back or a quick squirt from them so i could tuck in behind. Nooooooo gets level with me and sits there, it was a definate slowdown by them. so i brake, drop back and pull around them L1.2.3.2.1 and give them some distance. back to cc and bugger me they are up again, this time i pop out in front before they try it again and ,again get some road between me and them. back in L1 enjoying the ride and they come screaming past in L2 and continue, but fro some reason i am stil on cc and catch them up again!!!. Luckily there was the 50 limit roadworks around Manchester and they got blocked in ,and disappeared in my mirror. and whatr is it with guys who, while you are going past them in L2, again on cc at 70, so it was a steady gain on them ( i suppose they were doing about 60) decided to match your speed when you are level with them????

The good bit

M6 near Brum Hard Shoulder running due to heavy traffic.. My own personal lane, passing everyone in L1/2/3 at 65 when they are stop start around 50 ish.

^ that's exactly why it's not worth going in lane 1, as noone lets you out. (yes I've said that before and incurred PH wrath, but you've just illustrated problem is real).
