on a scale of 1 to mad how upset are you? if im not supposed to slow down for deer then what makes slowing down for idiots any more applicable? im minding my own business on my side of the road. and yes before anyone says it is MY ROAD.

The overtake on zigzags? If not, enlighten me, please...
I'm not sure if it's illegal in that situation. The language in law is about overtaking the vehicle nearest the crossing.

Can a vehicle after the crossing be considered closest?

E.g. consider what that would mean if traffic was stationary, with a vehicle stopped immediately past the crossing and one stopped well short of the crossing but inside the zig zags.

If I filter past the vehicle before the crossing I should be committing an offence, but if the vehicle nearest can be the one after a crossing, then I'm not committing an offence until I pass that one after the crossing which would defeat the purpose of this law.

Would I be willing to test my theory with my licence? Eh no. I'll sit this one out...

There's been documented cases of people who are able to rationalise logic like yours. Psychiatry has even ascribed a name for the condition.

I'd keep your thoughts confined to the virtual world though because the real life intervention can be quite constraining.

i've every right to be upset because aggressive knuckle draggers like you are on the roads. A deer is not a human. Another driver, and their family, and their friends... they are all humans. It isn't your fking road, you are a road user (unfortunately) and not a road owner. The only part of it that is 'yours' is the part which your car temporarily occupies - not any distance around your car, not the lane you are currently driving in. Surely a troll.

are you implying that you are more important than another sentient being? what makes you think you are more important than a deer? because it doesnt speak english or have opposable thumbs?

if some idiot pulls out for an overtake without checking if they could do it safely first they should learn the hard way about why when you play stupid games you will eventualy win a stupid prize for your efforts.

making me slow down because of their actions causing me to inconvenience myself and technically obstructing my travel willfuly imprisoning me without my consent.

its self defence at worst.

XC90 trying to overtake a tractor and the two other cars in front of it on the A69. I had to dodge her on the verge to avoid a collision.

This drives me mad, had some guy straddle both lanes in a 5 series estate a week ago then as people went round him onto the other side of the road he just swerved out on someone. Just picture this he swerved not only into the second lane, which he was partially in, but onto the other side of the road! Fortunately I slipped past him 2 cars earlier but if that was me he done that to I would of probably dragged him out of his car. Incredible to watch. How they didn't crash I'll never know.

But it comes back to my general rule of don't try to police the roads. If someone wants to get past let them. Unless it's going to result in an immediate, or a high risk of an, accident just let them get on with it.

Also to all the knobs on their phones while they're behind me. Sadly I'm truly at the mercy or their incompetence..

This bearded pr ick should be banned for life the way he was driving near Forest Row in East Sussex today. A major accident waiting to happen.

Overtaking three cars at a time on blind bends and nearly causing two head on collisions.

Do we report these people to the police or is there no point?

Driving up the M74 in a horse lorry yesterday. (That's me, not the thing that makes me think knob)

2 lane piece of road, with signs up informing us that the right hand lane of the 2 was shutting in 800 yards.

I'm in no rush, and I'm in a big truck, so I sit in the queue in lane 1, minding my own business. Plenty of people trying to pass in lane 2, which was pretty much empty, until the sad wker in the black Volvo XC-something-or-other decides he's the lane police and pulls out, covering both lanes so no-one can pass him because he's too fking stupid to understand what a merge in turn is.

He was behind me, so it didn't impact me in the slightest, I suppose I got home ever so slightly quicker as a result, yes still, knob. fking throbber.

There is stretch of road on the outskirts of Cambridge on Trumpington Road that goes from one lane to two then back to one again, and as I head out in the morning, I often see some self important spacktard on the 2 lane stretch straddling the middle of the lanes to stop people coming past. Tossers. What do they think the extra lane is for - decoration?

so all of a sudden you've flipped from being an absolute psychopath with no care for any form of life just as long as you get to your destination, to a tree hugger who loves squirrels and badgers and all that st? The reason why there is a general rule to not try and swerve to avoid animals is that you're likely to cause an accident with another vehicle. You just don't swerve to avoid a pigeon and then wipe out a bus queue.

It's an oldie, but I haven't seen it for so long this really bugged me on Saturday...

Flicking a cigarette out of the window.

Bonus points for them presumably intentionally flicking it as far as possible to their right as I was overtaking them due to them doing 40 on a straight wide 60. Bounced off my (thankfully closed) passenger window.

Just smoking in a car is enough for me to think knob but yes, that elevates it to inconsiderate knob.

The real champion spacktards are the ones who do this in the sticks and as a result torch a field of standing corn.

This happens all the time on the A36 into Salisbury, was a van blocking the lanes at least 2 miles from the merge point once. Then at the weekend some Up! tried to stop me zip merging, unfortunately I have a proper sized engine so that put a stop to that. Then a taxi did it to a 1-series behind. I almost waved the BMW in front of me but I was too far forwards really and I just thought I'd stay out of whatever world the knobber of a taxi driver was in.

I'd slow down for deer. They can make a right mess of your car. You're not supposed to swerve for small animals, I'm not sure deer count as small for that purpose (given they can write off a car).

Description of the driver, vehicle, number plate, location, actions and other evidence (dash camera for example) all go on record so if that vehicle and driver are involved in any incident or collision later there'll be a reference point.

Also it could be taken into consideration and read out in court if the CPS want to demonstrate a pattern of behavior.
