Mind you most are probably MOD plod, so I have no idea if they care about my care when they are busy stopping nuclear missiles going all "Broken Arrow" on us....but I am not taking chances

All I seem to see in London are Diplomatic Protection Officers or British Transport Police.

Neither ever take notice of cars with lights out, misspaced number plates or any other motoring misdemeanour ime!

Some ahole last night playing dumb about the state of his lights.

Coming toward me, in the gathering dusk, with just a single nearside side marker lamp lit. I gave him a flash or two of high beam to remind him that it might be an idea to switch the headlights on. The response was a flash of his high beam - only the offside one worked.

I wonder if he's any relation to the chap in a Punto the other day who's nearside tail and brake lamps were not functioning. No central brake light, and no number plate lamps either.

I'm convinced that RVLR infringements aren't the only offences these numpties will be committing, so why, oh why, don't the police have a massive nationwide crackdown on roadworthiness offences? We'd see far fewer failed lights for a start, and goodness only knows how many MOT, VED and insurance offences they would detect at the same time. Have a couple of crackdowns a few months apart and idiots would soon get the idea that you very much DO need to take a proactive approach to keeping your car fit for the road. Leaving such things to MOT time just isn't on.
I'm seeing more and more cars with rear lights incorrectly wired up.

Brakes illuminate on the left but on the right it's a yellow indicator being illuminated. Indicate Right and the 3rd brake and right brake illuminate in time with the indicator. Its like a disco!

Followed one of those hideous Mini Clubman things through my town last night, (66 plate) & it seemed to have the rear fogs wired to the brake lights, 2 small lenses in bumper below doors.

Every time he braked there were 5 lights glaring at me. 1 Hi level, 2 either side of the rear doors & the ones in the bumper.

I couldn't see any other red lenses on rear not lighting up.

Club man? I know what man I'd have clubbed!!

Knob. ( if only for having the PoS in the first place!)

Actually thing this is intentional on those things as I had the same the other evening. The rear lights were ridiculously bright, yet all lights went off as they pulled away.

Haven't they wired them that way because the standard car has crap brake wiring?

IIRC on the standard car it's the high-level plus the ones at the bottom of the bumper which light up. I presume because there's not enough space between the mid-level ones and the high-level light.

Maybe something to do with the tail-light visibility when the rear doors are open.

A bit like why UK spec' imported 4x4s have lights in the bumper but their JDM equivalents don't.

i do feel there is an element of "it can't be dark enough to put my lights on, it's not 6pm yet" (or whatever arbitrary time) amongst some of these titflaps.

USA, legal requirement, headlights on 30 minutes before dusk.

On the headlight issue. In 2010 the UK wanted to make it mandatory for headlights to be used at all times like other countries in Europe but the EU had just passed the DRL legislation so they blocked it.

Anyway this...

...every time I see it on eBay.

Still at least it's not a cheat app.

is it dusk at the same time every day of the year in the US? In the UK it changes throughout the year.

Well they may as well blind me properly.

God knows, my eyes hurt enough just looking at it in broad daylight.

It's a complete munter.

You never answered me when you last brought this "issue" up a few short pages ago. Is it against eBay rules?

Sorry must have missed it. Speculative bidding isn't at all but if you know how much you want to pay bid that and let it run.

I don't know if cheat app's are against the rules or not but the term "cheat app'" should say it all.

Middle lane hogs. When people try to overtake others in spite but just linger in the "fast" line. They won't get out of the way (a contender of the worst things to be stuck behind on a road) and makes your journey miserable and question their driving competence. Need a tank to deal with these.

Cockend in a Toyota RAV4 who deliberately stuck his foot down to match my speed and block me from joining the A38 yesterday. I know he'd seen me on the sliproad and I am certain he did it on purpose.
