The driver of a Mercedes Vito van in heavy traffic on the M6 south yesterday - in the roadworks section south of Manchester.

In the space of just a few hundred metres, he went lanes: 3-2-1-2-1-2-3-2-1-2-3-2-1

And gained 1 car length.

I just sat in lane 2 knowing that, in that kind of traffic, no single lane is going to reach the end of the roadworks faster than the others.

A pillock in an Aygo did this and swerved over so far he smacked into my wife in her Smart Roadster coming the other way and wrote both cars off. Last time I checked an Aygo was a tiny city car rather than a 40 foot articulated truck, so it's a mystery why he did it.

Whoever was driving that police car down the A41 towards Berkhamsted tonight. Couldn't be arsed to move over on an empty road to let me join from the slip road, then drove between the next two junctions at random speeds between 60 and 80, then used the right hand lane to go straight across the roundabout when we both left the dual carriageway. At least he indicated left (at the last minute) when he cut across in front of me. Knob.

I work for a large organisation which owns a significant amount of land; all roads and parking spaces within said land are marked "permit holders only - private land" or "no access - private road".

There's an event on in town, so we're getting the usual numpties parking in our spaces - that's so common it's now a given - the private company who manage the car parking are useless.

Some absolute twonk has just taken this to the next level - they've driven down between 2 of our buildings (with double yellow lines on each side) and parked up on one side (on the double yellows) then toddled off into town! There's a disabled badge been thrown on the dashboard. This is an access road which they're now blocking. I was half tempted to stick a message on the windscreen saying "being disabled does not entitle you to abandon your car wherever you want", but I like my job. Our security guys drive up and down this road in old defenders, half of me hopes they accidentally clip this twonks car.

EDIT: Apparently has been towed!

My Mother.

I went to the dentist earlier & popped in to see the 'Rents' on the way back to work.

She, kindly? Offered me a sandwich made from the loaf pictured below!!

Sainsbury's Tiger Loaf apparently........

At least it wasn't her Crusty Bloomerslaugh
That's giraffe bread. A kid pointed out that it doesn't resemble a tiger and Sainsburys agreed. It's quite nice tasting bread.

Said tiger on the bag. Was from Tesco I expect.

Couldn't eat it due to new crown, surprised she didn't offer me some toffee instead!!

Usual slow approach to Sutton Bridge on the a17 today.
A possession of cars not being delayed by a tractor which made a change.
Eventually a dozen or so cars and lorries got past the moving road block which turned out to be a learner driver.
When i drew level the instructor was steering as the pupil was so st she could not control the car.
If she was that bad why did you not stop and get her out of the car and find a carpark and give her some basic car control lessons

The Tard in a white S reg Celica on M25 this lunchtime.

L1 full of lorries, im in L2 closing on a Polo travelling @ 65 or so.

Mr Tard in the Celica is matching the Polo in L3 with 2 or 3 vans behind him having to do the same, as we get to an uphill the Polo maintains speed probably using CC so Mr Tard starts to drop back. I was held in L2 due to the vans & passed Tard still in L3, using my CC & still maintaining my distance from Polo

He steadfastly remained in L3 with vehicles backing up behind him until we came to the A405/M1 slips where L1 is dedicated to those & going under A405/M1, M25 is 3 lanes, im now in L1 as im going onto M1.

Mr Tard goes through there, remaining on M25 now in L2 because he has not changed lane for over 10 miles, like a stabbed rat!!

Total oblivious dangerous Knob.

The Celica was mint for a 99 S plate though

GOOD.

I detest the "I have a disabled badge, so can park anywhere and suffer no consequences thing", especially the way it is tacitly endorsed by the enforcement policies of councils etc.

Look, if the parking restriction actually needs to be there, the status of the driver has no bearing on that, book 'em.
If a car can park there and it be safe, any car can, and the parking restriction should be removed.

The feckless wonders who are pottering around in these dark mornings and evenings with side lights only on (and nary a sight of the fog light either).

I saw the aftermath of a cyclist flattened on a dual carriageway the other week when it was dark out. Just before they closed the road.
Not pretty.

High vis + lights is a must! Cycling along that stretch of DC is a death wish, several get killed every year.

I fail to see the point in doing the back one as my wiper is non existent so its coated in mud as to not see anyway. The other back ones I dont look out of when driving so dont get the problem? Unless of course assume you only mean front windows and none of the back ones.

I am. He said ALL windows and not just the windscreen and the front two side windows. If they are iced over at the back you still have as much visability as a van would have.

All windows.

Having one covered in mud is just as bad as covered in ice.

The van argument is flawed because people who drive vans are used to it and adjust people with cars and other vehicles who use their side windows aren't.

I shouldn't be shocked considering your fleet, but it's quite worrying you think it's ok to drive around with windows you can't see out of.

All windows must be clear. There is no grey area here.
