Funny how quickly things become the norm, I've not walked into a petrol station for about 5 years so count myself very lucky. Pay at Pump ftw smile

I agree and we all know...

"The driver or operator of the vehicle is responsible for it's condition".

Lights or lack there of, driving a dangerous vehicle due to defective or ineffective lights. That should also include those who fail to clear frost, condensation and/or muck from their lights and reflectors (including number plates).

Squeaky fan belts should be treated the same as misuse of the horn between 23:00 and 07:00

These McTwunts!

Always make me think knob.

I'm driving down 30mph road at about 26/27. I see my turning up ahead on the right. It's a cross roads but I have right of way as my road is continuous with no breaks.

There's a car waiting to exit on my left - not indicating and is going straight over.
There's a car waiting to exit on my right - indicating right to pull out in front of me.

If I stop and Flash my headlights to signal 'you may go' both cars are going to think that I am signalling them. The car on my left will go straight over and the car on my right will drive into said car as he goes to turn right.

I decide not to flash or signal anything other than my right hand indication and to turn right. Courtesy causes confusion and all that.

I'm half way into the right turn and the car that was waiting to exit on my right FROM A STAND STILL WITH ME IN FRONT OF THEM drives into my rear driver door and panel.

YAY!

The knuckle-dragging tradesmen in those 'sport' Transit/VW vans who feel it's ok to overtake in fog.

Not big, not clever and your van is still just a van.

The utter fool I followed down the A1 early this morning, driving in a most erratic manner constantly moving around in the lane and then straddling the white line between the lanes, I was just waiting for the accident.

And it arrived! Whilst attempting to overtake a 40T lorry on a left hand bend, the bloody fool did the white line thing and slammed into the rear off side quarter of the lorry.

I'd left plenty of room as I just knew the plonker would crash at some point, the mouth breather in the white van behind me was also grateful at that point for me backing off despite the fact he was about 10ft off my bumper trying to push me on.

There were at least 4-5 accidents on my 210 mile drive down south today, when will people learn to move left and leave some bloody room to brake.

Haven't reached as far as East Sussex yet. Our Tescos have a couple but they are usually out of order along with the car wash, car vac and tyre pressure machines.

yes watched a guy do this on a narrow rural road yesterday evening. First he overtook me and another van. Then he over took 3 more vehicles. Dick head!
3 miles down the road I was behind him as he pulled in to his drive rolleyes

Overtaking isn't always to necessarily get somewhere before anyone else. I sometimes do it because I just like driving quickly.

I don't get why people get angry about it or try and stop you doing it.

Large increase in speeding fines coming up. I heard a thousand squid for some offences.

150% of your weekly wage. 41mph in a 20mph is one example. Motorway offences top out at £2500.

We've had thick fog for two days now on the south coast and lots of black ice- 31 accidents in Dorset on Monday morning alone, so a "knob" award tonight for the Subaru Forrester driver who came past me doing 80+ when visibility was less than 100 metres. Something about the tough 4 x 4 image that seems to make Subaru drivers in particular, invincible in inclement conditions!! Other than this, I have to say most people were, for a change, taking it steady....

The old merc behind me with crappy aftermarket drl's on the a3 that flashed at me when merging into 'his' lane. Cue the traffic where he leaves mile long gaps before moving off. Blatantly on his phone I thought. Then he was nicked by a motorbike copper just behind me. thumbup

Most of the time it's not necessary to break the speed limit to overtake - such is the slowness of the convoy all in a trance. Also, it's very rare to see a police car out and about.

Mind you, I saw one last week. I followed him from Portsmouth to Southampton on the m27. He didn't use lane 1 once, just sat in lane 2 behind another car for 15 miles, occasionally using lane 3. Lazy .

Me last night, following my satnav through the back lanes of East Kent in thick freezing fog with my 10 year old son riding shotgun.

I went around a corner at about 20mph and realised it should have been half that and I was in a four wheel skid on black ice with no grip.

My big 4x4 and new winter tyres made no difference at all as I skidded into the verge 10cm from a large telephone pole.

The drive home felt like it took a very long time.

I have no doubt that that he was tailing the lane two vehicle. Occasionally using lane three as a diverting tactic.

That would have made me very happy to observe.

I'm a bus driver.

To the lady in the beige vw beetle, who did not give way to the right at a mini roundabout, causing me to get very close and then she done the wker hand gesture. I then pass her as the road goes to two lanes opened my window, smiled and blew her a kiss, she smiled back but I could tell she was fuming

For 15 miles? Surely if the 1st car was an MLM he would have pulled him within 2 to 3 miles or made his presence felt with light or siren.
