I was out with my 3 boys yesterday, walked from my house to a park up the road. I have a 1 year old in a pushchair and 2 boys under 4 on balance bikes. We get to a zebra crossing opposite the park, we stop and check and a Mondeo stops. I look the other way and a white Polo is coming towards us at speed, goes straight through the crossing while apparently texting on her phone without even noticing me or the other car stopped waiting for us to cross. Had I assumed cars would stop, we'd have been in the road and who knows whether she'd have noticed us.

Wish I'd have clocked the reg plate as something like that needs reporting to the police.
Hopefully the 6 point and £200 fine rule brought in today might make people think twice, although I doubt it will make much difference sadly.
Note from what I saw today. Still loads on people on their phones. Hopefully they will get bans and there will be less cars on the road! wink
I cycled 15 miles today on 'quiet' roads and saw three people using phones while driving. And that's only the ones I actually saw!

Something's not getting through to these Muppets.

But then I didn't see one Police car. Might be on to something there.
From an email I had yesterday about the increased fines;

Goodyear email said:
Kate Rock, PR & Corporate Communications Manager, comments: “It’s absolutely imperative that more education is provided to make drivers aware of the potential dangers of the road and the distractions around them, so that safe driving becomes second nature.

“We have found that mobile phone use is still prominent especially in young drivers. Worryingly, our extensive research revealed that 42% of young drivers have admitted to using their mobile phone behind the wheel and almost one-quarter (23%) said the risk of being prosecuted would not affect this. Driving is a serious matter and we hope this change in law makes motorists think about their actions, to stay focused on the task in hand.”
frown Bit staggering that 23% of people asked openly admitted they'll continue to break the law...as you say, has to be down to the sheer lack of police presence on the road as there's no visual deterrent.

With the exception of the 5-Series that decided to pull someone over and block most of the road through West Clandon this morning, I genuinely can't remember the last time I saw a police car on the road.

Man who called me a this morning.....

Turning right out of my street and he was on the other side of the road/footpath (walking I might add). I turn right and as I am about halfway across the road the man makes a run for it. Sprints right infront of my car. I had to swerve around him and he calls me a !
The best part is that there were no cars at all after me so he could have waited. I had my indicators on too so he knew where I was going.

I didn't. I was sort of shocked at what happened. Man had a death wish.

white van lady (in a transit connect - so not a real white van) trying to force me to overtake a cyclist by being so far up my ass i felt a little dirty wink

this is in a 20 zone doing 10-12mph

road between a hospital and a school @ 4pm

while passing through a zebra crossing and passing a busy turning on the right with cars pulling out regularly and parked cars with approaching traffic

when i do overtake safely by exceeding the 20 slightly then pull back in she then screams past me with her passenger giving me the finger, then turns left 200m later and i drive past!!

well done smile could have at least got a reach around while she was back there!!

I was waiting on the 2nd floor of a multi story car park today for a man to pull out of his space. A chunky little mare came up and stuck her right indicator on, with intentions of going in to the space I was waiting for. The man pulled out so I pulled across the space. Words were had and she obviously wasn't happy. You know when you just know somebody is a spiteful, pathetic little ?

Well this fat fking we poured a tin of soup over my windscreen while I was in the gym. Never have I wanted to cut someones face off so much.

W1 KIM. We are obviously local to each other, so it was a bit short sighted on her part. I didn't talk to my sister for 5 years, I hold a fking grudge. bh best pray I do not see her car again.

fking fat slag is lucky the car needed a clean anyway.

No pic, just wanted to get the screen clear and get to the jet wash. I won't bother reporting it, far more important things for the Police to get on with, but I will deal with her myself if we cross paths again.

Repay her in kind, but leave it in the can!

Buy a bag of chips and stuff a load of them under every door handle of her car (including the boot).

The 65 plate C4 with every panel scratched to the metal earlier this evening. I said to the OH "Imagine having your 65 plate scratched like that..." he then proceeded to cut myself and another car up and was doing at least 70 in a 30. I then understood the damage.

And myself, for pulling out on some tiny little white yaris or some-such this morning. They definitely had to brake. So apologies to the little white hatchback in Erskine this morning.

Twunt of a taxi driver, Hart council hackney carriage licence, early 2018 expiry date. Can't remember the number to report him, sadly. Black Hyundai i40.

Waiting in a slow moving queue for the traffic lights near Farnborough Main railway station, the green phase of the lights was short, and we'd been through four or five phases with only a few cars getting through each time.

This halfwit then indicates right, while about six cars back from the lights. "Oh" thinks I. "He's going to do a three point turn, and take another route".

But no. This moron decides the time is right to overtake the six cars ahead of him, and turn right at speed, against a red traffic light, and BETWEEN a bus and a car emerging from our right on their green light. An absolute ahole if ever I saw one. He really could have caused an accident, and it was only sheer dumb luck that one of those cars/buses from the right wasn't turning left straight into a head-on with the taxi driver.

Absolutely confirms my assertion that ALL cabbies are s...

...I see plenty of knobbish things that annoy me out on the roads, and usually I can have a rant and then forget about it, but this was the one time I'd definitely have uploaded the footage if I had a dashcam fitted.

Leicester!

I may have an SP30 in the post because someone very kindly turned the 30/40 sign round on a road I was on. rolleyes

It also took three times as long to get out of there because the signs for Peterborough and the East take you North West and you can not retrace your route as it's a stupid one way system.

I ended up on a lovely bit of road from the A6 (South East) back to the A47 via Houghton on the Hill so it wasn't all bad.

If you take the turn off the A47 for "Tilton on the Hill" and keep going you end up on some lovely stuff. Where was this flipped sign anyway, I'm concerned it may affect my life as well...

The section to Market Harborough was nice too, until it got a blanket 50 limit...

If the signs are wrong +/or misleading then you have a defence! Keep the dashcam footage!
Check local newspaper website for similar occurrences.
