If the driver had a disabled child or pregnant wife and explained that to the guy filming then I guess we would not have seen the video, I had a woman berate me for parking my Fiat Coupe Turbo in a disabled bay at work, I said to her "Just bear with me" and helped my mate with Cerebral Palsy out of the car, into his chair and into the office, I then moved the car to a normal space and spoke to her, she was mortified but I just said that she was right to challenge me. We do need to get the full picture, I think RR man was just parking there with no reason in this case, but it is easy to look a pillock in these situations even with the best intentions.
This is of course the correct answer. My mates wife is disabled, you wouldn't know to look at her, but she is quite poorly and has even been on the news about her condition. She quite rightly has a blue badge and often has to explain to people.

To me, it looked like the child in the passenger seat was sleeping. I don't like to see people abuse disabled bays and the like but ultimately, the individual filming sounded like a scumbag in this footage.

I think they are both in the wrong but I think the camera guy is just unbearable. I'd bet that had a disabled person nicely made his need for the space clear to the RR guy latter would have readily moved his car. But with a plonker who evidently has already parked elsewhere in a carpark with plenty of vacant spaces waving a camera and making pathetic comments and intent on making a point, I think I'd have been just as difficult and f-off-ish as the RR guy.

Let's face it the RR guy was in his car so available to move the vehicle as required.

not sure the police could do owt about the parking tbh, looks like a retail park with third party parking enforcement, and we all know that tickets issued in these are to be ignored, right kidsthumbup
But they can most certainly dispose of a battery (physical assault) of a disabled person by a t**t in a RR.

Oh my god!!! Moral outrages at full bore. laugh

I have a Range Rover. I also parked in a disabled space earlier this afternoon.

It was a busy small local carpark. There were two empty disabled spaces. I parked in one whilst my OH went into the shop to get a couple of bits.

I sat in the car with the engine running quite happy to move at a moments notice if it so happened that 2 disabled drivers arrived in the 5 minutes my OH was in the shop.

I'm also quite happy to use disabled toilets. Send me straight to hell. biggrin

There was only 1 prick in that video, only 1 passive-aggressive, abusive, dhead out to create some grief and confrontation. And he wasn't sat in the car.

Is assault of a disabled person a greater crime than battery of someone without a disability?

Being disabled does not give you a get out of jail card to act like a tt. Anyone acting like that would have eventually got the same reaction.

I would agree with most people on here: both are idiots:

Idiot 1: RR Driver should not be parking there IF he is not a blue badge holder or as a passanger as such. To diffuse the issue he should have just moved (he has kids with him).

idiot 2: I think hes a bigger idiot: It was a simple case of ask a member of staff from the store to ask him to move and that would be the end of it. Clearly there has been some event before this video but things like this can turn very nasty and to start confronting people over what are small things in the grand scheme of things is just odd.

I had a similar situation once when my father who has been long term ill for 15 years had to pop into Morrisons to get his medication and he forgot his badge so I parked in the bay closest to the door as there were 6 other spaces right beside me and as soon as my dad left someone chapped my window and was irate and i explained to him yes we have forgot the badge however if you require proof my father is returning he will show you the scares from 30 operations in his stomach area if you wish, he just walked away.

Nope. The guy in the car could be waiting for a disabled passenger, he could have a disabled child or he could have a hidden disability himself - no everybody entitled to use disabled facilities is 90 years old or in wheelchairs.

In this example the car driver does come across like a dick and there appears to be nothing wrong with him - but how are we to know? Also we have no idea what the guy with the camera was doing or how he was behaving before he started filming.

Camera operator is at high risk of getting a smack in the mouth behaving like that.

Bloke with camera sneakily films a child sleeping in a car. Paedophile - definitely.

It has been a while but yes I think the vulnerability increases the sentence. So in law yes.

totally agree, and not defending RR Man, though i would be pretty miffed by the abuse and the potential "filming" of minors citing this as a defence.

Why not just park in normal spaces? Driving a big car and parking in disabled spaces, regardless of whether or not you will move when asked, just makes people think you are a tosser.

Thread title is misleading, it should have simply read "Man in car takes exception to being verbally abused by self-righteous tt".

I'm not convinced he was disabled. Would someone who's disabled really be calling someone else a 'retard' as an insult?

I think it was just some able bodied idiot with far too much time on his hands.

They aren't there for you regardless of whether you are prepared to move, whilst you are sat in readiness people are going past thinking what a you are.

A pair of bell ends acting like bell ends, they deserve each other.

Someone always resorts to getting the camera out these days. I don't know why so many people take exception to it, they're on camera so much in public another person with one makes no odds.
