I would probably agree with this.

I don't really see a problem with him waiting in a disabled way,
.
then you have a problem and do not understand the blue badge system.
I understand the blue badge system perfectly well.

We're clearly not getting the full picture either way with selective uploading of video with no context to it.

Yes the RR bloke isn't complying with the letter of the law as far as the spaces go, as he didn't have a blue badge. Maybe he had a pregnant wife in the shop. Or maybe his brother was in there but bringing something large/heavy out to be loaded in the car, we don't know. I realise those excuses alone don't allow him to park there. But he was in the car, he could have moved in 2minutes had someone needed the space.

Things aren't always black or white are they. Yes he was breaking the rules, but its not like he just dumped his car there and vanished for an hour.

Guy in the RR, twit. Guy filming it trying to provoke a reaction and didn't like it when it happened.

They both come across as a pair of wkers. I just think the guy filming slightly edges it in the 'biggest wker' stakes

I have a Range Rover. I also parked in a disabled space earlier this afternoon.

It was a busy small local carpark. There were two empty disabled spaces. I parked in one whilst my OH went into the shop to get a couple of bits.

I sat in the car with the engine running quite happy to move at a moments notice if it so happened that 2 disabled drivers arrived in the 5 minutes my OH was in the shop.

I'm also quite happy to use disabled toilets. Send me straight to hell. biggrin

There was only 1 prick in that video, only 1 passive-aggressive, abusive, dhead out to create some grief and confrontation. And he wasn't sat in the car.
They aren't there for you regardless of whether you are prepared to move, whilst you are sat in readiness people are going past thinking what a you are.
I don't care too much what other people think of me, particularly not random strangers. However, if I saw anyone come into the carpark that made any indication to wanting the space I'd have moved.

As you've said above they are aren't there for me they are spaces designated for disabled drivers. I would immediately cede to any disabled driver.

For the record, I wouldn't park in a disabled space and leave the car.

If I'd been the guy in the car in the clip I'd have moved, if only to shut the whinging git up and avoid a confrontation.

Shock horror!
I know, I know, but it is a diesel.

A cancer causing, particulate emitting monster sized diesel. biggrin
Being a prick is one thing
Being proud to be a prick is something else altogether.

J.ust to ask, if I was looking for a disabled space and you were taking it up, how could I ask you since I can't get out of my car and you can't hear me over your clattering old Diesel engine?
Keep beeping my horn and gesticulating?

Something like that yes, although not sure why you'd have to keep beeping and gesticulating, I'm only sat there patiently waiting for the OH to return so quite well aware of what's going on around me.

Beeping and gesticulating is easily misunderstood as an aggressive act by some and the results can be seen in the clip.
Personally I try to avoid these situations as I no longer have the confidence to deal with these situations.
I have on occasion left the car park as there's no free disabled spots,ar great inconvience, rather than risk a confrontation.

They are both idiots but we don't have the full story here.... something is missing.

Anyway the guy filming was definitely wanting to record a reaction to probably sue the RR guy that's why I am sure there is a previous story here. I would not be happy if I had someone filming me and my children like that.

We really don't know why the RR was parked there so he may have a reasonable excuse to do so but if he didn't at least he was in the car and could move it if necessary I guess, still if he didn't need the place he should have parked on a proper bay.

The tt filming, well I am sure there is a previous story here, should mind his own business and bring to the attention of the owner of the parking bay (shop manager?) Not take the matters on his own hands and be a self righteous and patronising person. He should have done it the right way, not like that...

Both idiots but the guy filming was asking for it... And got it!

Another vote for you being a tosser from me as well I'm afraid. You shouldn't have used the space, hopefully the feedback in this thread will make you think twice in the future.

This. It's a disabled bay for a reason and those with a right to use one shouldn't have to ask you to move...because you shouldn't be in it. But it sounds like you're arrogant about it and don't give a st In the first place.

You wouldn't have needed to , there was other free disabled parking.

I thought you would have an arrogant reply along those lines, only to be expected from someone who would park in a disabled space in the first place.

And that's the unfortunate thing about it - you think it's okay...because you were in the car! My primary 5 class have recently finished a topic on disabilities and at the tender age of 10 and 11, a significant number would now speak passionately to you about exactly why you shouldn't be in such a bay at all. The mind boggles.

Did you actually expect me to offer some kind of apology and beg your forgiveness after you've made you opinion of me so obvious? You think I'm an arrogant tosser, what I think of you based on your comments I'll keep to myself.

You seem to want to make an issue out of something when there isn't one.

You wouldn't have had to signal to him - there was another disabled space available. And even if someone took that one and he didn't move, if someone needed his they can presumably manage to beep their horn, roll down their window and speak to him, or signal with your hands that you need in the space. Its not rocket science is it?
