What do you guys/gals drive for work (not including company cars here)?

For my job, I have to drive a Peugeot Partner (tell me about it!). It's fine day to day but upon off-road/snow/wet leaves it's crap.

To be fair, I've got a soft spot for it, it's done me proud. I can't help but think though that I should be offered a Defender for my duties laugh

For me during the week it's either;

Bianchi via nirone C2C, Honda CBR125R or a southeastern train after a few drinks

At the weekends it's a BMW E39 540i which doubles up as my fun car and people mover smile

What are you doing? My Berlingo was fantastic in the snow and off-road, ok not up to Defender status, much but better than most vehicles, I used to work in quarries in the Peak District and the Yorkshire Dales, so it did get some hammer.

My work horse is an S2000. I'm doing 60 miles a day in it just going to and from work 5 days a week now. I did have a golf TDI for 100 miles a day, but got a new job closer to home that meant I was doing 50, then moved 10 miles further away.

Going from permanent staff to contractor has meant I can drive a car that satisfies the petrol head in me for a considerably lower percentage of my take home pay than before.

Most of those miles are quite mundane and I did think a few weeks ago it seems a shame to be putting those type of miles on the S, so looked into getting a snotter. Found one and then the insurance co said it would be around £400 to add it to my policy until the end of september!

Mercedes Benz Sprinter LWB, not a bad van in some ways an utter pile of st in some others. Still much better than the loan Transit we had for a week.

2007 BMW 320d on 175k miles.

Love it, in the last 6 months it's had a new clutch and turbo so I'm hoping to get another 150k out of the turbo.

Currently an oceanographer in Norway. The Partner, as I mentioned, is fine 9 times out of 10, and has developed a soft spot within myself. Doesn't help make you think you should have something a little more 'capable' though.laugh

I had a couple of Renault Traffics for the last 3 or so years. They are the first vans I've ever had and I didn't think they were too bad. Now I've been given a VW transporter I don't know I managed to spend 10+ hours a day working from a Traffic. The VW is miles better.

Currently a 64-plate Vauxhall Combo LWB, with the throbbing 1.25 litre turbo diseasel dragging its sorry arse about. Boggo-base model, no creature comforts other than an FM radio and leccy windows.

Mercedes Sprinter 519cdi with a Wilker ambulance body.

Slightly PH as its a twin turbo V6 and awfully thirsty.
