I have just mentioned this to my friend that has got one of these Polestar Volvo.
He has also suffered a similar fate with his tyre but his car came with a space saver wheel, only when he came to put it on he found that it didn't fit as the brakes were too big!!! confused
Surely somebody at Volvo design could have checked something as simple as that?
I had this with my type r, if you got a flat at the front the space saver wouldn't clear the brakes. You had to put the space saver on the back instead and put the full size back wheel on the front.

I'm genuinely shocked that a professional car tester couldn't read the road well enough to avoid a pot hole large enough to disable a car.
I'm hoping that you skim read the article and missed the bit where I said that the pothole was completely submerged?! Either that or there are some very important road-reading skills that I have been previously unaware of. Like the ability to predict the future and telepathy. wink
Hmmm snow, standign water, presumably low temperatures and 50mph on a small country road in a car with very low profile tyres. Was that reading he road well?

I remain unsure what telepathy has to do with it but accidents happen, of course, this had a whif of inevitability.

Sorry, you've really got the wrong end of the stick. Have you actually read the article? To summarise it for you:

First up, it wasn't snowing - as already stated the pictures are from an old shoot (I couldn't get any new pictures due to the tyre issues and therefor a lack of time)

Secondly, it wasn't cold - although how that impacts things I'm not sure.

Thirdly, it wasn't a small country road. It was a wide, well sighted, national speed limit road that was - aside from the pothole I found - in normal condition.

Next up, it was hardly a case of huge levels of standing water. There was a single, not particularly large (but obviously quite deep) puddle hiding the pothole. I don't know about you but I don't tend to swerve around puddles as a matter of course.

Lastly, and again as written in the article, I was actually going at a very sedate pace, well below the speed limit and the car's capability as I had a sleeping 5 month old baby in the car.

So, other than that you're absolutely right on all points!

£49,775 Did I read that correct? £49,775 for that? I'm sorry to offend all the Volvo lovers out there but you must be having a laugh.
