I went out to a recovery yard once to collect a car, it was safe to say I couldn't collect it.

Both parties unfortunately died I was told.

I would NOT want to crash in a Defender, from what I've heard they may fare well in certain types of accident (hitting old lamposts head on for example) but are pretty diabolical in other types of crash.

For example, easy to tip, and have little roll over protection with easily collapsible roofs...
As someone who has had a head on collision with another vehicle in a Defender 90, I can vouch for this.

Somehow, both parties lived and walked away that day but it made me realise it was time to buy something safer, so I bought an E46 M3.
