Starting to miss my old ST I think!

And having looked at Seat Ibiza Cupras and the like on AutoTrader, I'm starting to think buying my 330i was a bit of a mistake.

Granted the boot space is wonderful, the 5 doors are a godsend and it's a very comfortable place to be, it just doesn't seem fun.

Going sideways is enjoyable, but that's just about it.

Someone convince me the BM was the right choice. hehe

Get a 5 door hot hatch, more A-B fun and just as practical. Plus you don't look like a sales rep! wink

You can get a five door, current generation Focus ST for a reasonable price these days and those are fairly practical..... hehe

I'm probably not helping....

Neither of you are helping tbh. hehe

Don't like the current gen ones, the looks just aren't gelling with me. The MK2's however...

Bout 5 years back sold golf gti for 330 msport (e90) and I do miss that car and may well go back to gti soon. There is nothing wrong with the bmw but somehow gti feels better , more chuckble more fun I spose.

Hot hatches are fun now and then, but beepers can be comfy and fun. Sounds like you need to release some 6 cylinder sounds. I fitted an AFE stage 1 filter from usa ebay, proper job and sounds much nicer. smile

You can have a hot hatch that is a BMW - I've got an E46 325ti Sport Compact, but there is always the 130i if you need quicker!

130i all the way. Very different from the 330i for the reason you mention - more chuckable, more fun!

If I considered releasing more sound, I'd cut the backbox off, sound wonderful when replaced with some straight pipe...

It wasn't peer pressure.

On paper, it looked the perfect car for me right now...

4 door, plenty of space, big boot, RWD, ample power, comfort.

But now I've done a few skids, the excitement isn't there as much...

Edit; if I'm being honest, I think I prefer FWD over RWD. I don't know why, I just prefer how it feels. I must be the only person on PH to ever say that! hehe

Unfortunately 1 series bit too small. The reason I ended up with the e90 is due to having my second kid, also sound of that engine under load is rather pleasing to my ears.

Certainly not - I have never driven a diesel paid for with my own money (and if Tesla carry on like they have been, never will).

Boot space in my 330i (e90) isn't great, certainly the wife's Honda Civic's boot is better, so I'd imagine other hatches would be at least as good.

I went from a V8 barge to a hot hatch just for a change. I had forgotten what cornering properly was like biggrin

Actually OP does not say what generation of 330i he has - might an M135i be an option; 130i plus!
Or wait for next gen 1 series as it seems it is likely to be FWD (but I doubt there will be any straight 6 engines). frown
