Whichever shape 330i is a good car but more of a gt. If you want more performance, feedback, involvement etc the m3 is the way to go.

oh and the civic boot is huge, probably bigger than most small and medium family cars, and some flats in central London.

Current car is an 02 330i saloon, for those who were wondering.

1 series' are horrid looking things, apart from the coupes, which just aren't practical for us in the slightest. (Toddler to go in back, plus my work tools live in the boot permanently, so needs to be enough room for them, plus shopping etc...)

The only M3 even slightly close to my budget, would be a dog of an E46. Plus I don't like the look of any of the 3 coupes, much prefer the looks of the saloon/toured.

I think I could be going to look at a Cupra this weekend. Not sure yet...

yes A friend of mine has an FN2 Type R and the boot is fuggin' massive for a hatch back, the rear seats fold totally flat too, tons of space!

Odd, the official figures put it at 155 litres smaller than the Civics - how these things are calculated/measured is a mystery to me though so that may not reflect the real world capabilities of the car I guess.
