Evoque Convertible?
Discussion
All off-roaders started off without a roof. In fact pretty much any off-roader that is depicted as capable has/had a soft top variant:
Jeep Wrangler
Land Rover series/Defender
Suzuki Jimny/Vitara
Mitsubishi Shogun/Pajero
Toyota Landcruisers (of yesteryear)
G wagens (of yesteryear)
In fact the only ones who don't do soft top 4x4's are BMW and Audi!
I've got an evoque at the moment, I think I'll get one of these next year as I quite enjoy having a cabrio. Happy to take it down some greenlanes with all the grumpy people who say "it's too bendy for off-roading", I'm sure it'll do better than a X3/5-series/VW golf. And if you're offroading, shock horror, it's sometimes nice to enjoy the countryside without being cocooned head to toe in a black interior.
On a nice day, a slightly inferior convertible is still better than a slightly superior hard top.

I like open top cars
I live up a farm track
I want a car with decent heater
I want a car with some 4x4 capability
I want a car that can tow well
I would like a daily driver which is quiet and comfortable
I give not a fk about image
Why wouldn't i want a evoque softtop?
Well apart from the silly big wheels and pricetag

Looks ok. I liked my Evoque a few years ago and I'm sure this car will do well.
I'm after something a little more capable for my Algarve home so getting the next generation Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in 2017. Given there are over 300 days of Sunshine there, the hardtop will be off most the time and I'll be running it open top.
I expect I'll be seeing a fair number of these Evoque's over there too as it makes sense for a convertible version in warmer climes.

Saw this outside homebase on Sunday. Apart from the colour looked OK with the roof down. Still had prototype vehicle sticker on front bumper.
Same one spotted at my work. Just off m1 jct 31. This was around 4 weeks ago. Sorry for the poor photo , I was some distance away.
