I have a problem with my bmw e46 330d 2003, I had the swirl flaps removed 2 weeks ago and until now the car has been going well. However on the way home the other night I lost the turbo power, and after about 10 miles after this the diesel heater light came on, I stopped the car and restarted it the heater light went out, but still no turbo boost.
The engine runs well and no sign of oil leaks or smoke from the exhaust, just no turbo power, the turbo is not making any noise, can any body offer any help?

Possibly a pipe has split or come off?

As above, I'd be looking at a leaking or split hose but it may not be visible just by looking under the bonnet with the engine running. Get a spray bottle with washing up liquid and water, spray all the hoses you can see, go for short drive, stop, open bonnet, look for bubbles?

If the pipes have split you should be able to hear it as it starts to build boost just get someone to rev it, if it won't rev then it's in limp home mode did you have the car remapped when you removed the swirl flaps, if there's a fault registering then get it read as you'll be able to identify quickly & easily.

I should say as well, not every hose will be leaking. I have heard of some hoses losing integrity over the years and actually collapsing. Some hoses run a vacuum as well as under pressure at various times.
