I think that's a rubbish argument to be honest. I'm buying a 5 year old £70k grand, one of the reasons being I don't want to lose 10s of thousands in depreciation. Just because I can afford the outlay doesn't mean I have money to burn.

Someone who buy a brand new £40-45k audi/merc on finance will lose more money over the same period of ownership, yet if they asked about running/service costs, it wouldn't be met with the same type of 'why do you care how much it costs' response. How's it any different?

I currently drive an RS4 which has manageable running costs for me so everything is relative to that. I considered moving into a newer year old RS4 at around £50k, which would lose £20k at least over 3 years so I figured I would look at older cars that won't bomb as much.

Of course funning costs are an issue on a daily driver even if it is s £70k car. The difference in running costs between u Evora and s v8v at my mileage is about £1500 on basic service alone wash year. Add in parts, insurance and depreciation and the difference buys a decent holiday for 2.
Thank you.

Made some enquires on one of the Aston V12's within (sorta) range, no room for movement in price so it's a bit over budget. Need to drive one but think out of everything mentioned this would be my number one choice. R8 V10 is a safer choice, and I would agree, somewhat less special choice.

yep, it was that one. It's up at £75,215 at he said it's just been reduced from £75991 so there's not room for anymore. :-) Said I needed to be nearer 70 and he then mentioned finance so hey ho..

The aston seems to be a lot more practical than the R8, in that it's got a somewhat half decent boot and more space behind the seats.

Aston dealers are notorious for not budging on price! I had cash when buying mine and i struggled to get a indoor cover for it!
But the red V12 at 555 is good. Dont worry about the colour, i have a red Aston and everyone says "its so much better the greys and silvers we always see"!

And just to sway you that little more, ill turn you over to JC!

So the Aston it is!!

I like the colour actually but the extra couple grand would get me the silver one with 12k less miles, newer car and the must have option of the premium audio so I'd probably pay it if it came down to it. Just not much choice at this price point at the moment.

I've sat in the R8, a 2010 V10 with carbon interior. It was better than I expected but yea it's on a par with my current car and nothing special. I sat in a more recent 2014 V10 and that was a lot nicer though it probably had exclusive interior.

Never had the chance to see in the V12V but the interior is much the same as the normal vantage correct apart from the special seats? I've never sat inside a vantage either but agree with you interiors are important.
