Beat me to it
the mc stradale looks great and is in my price range but aren't the robot gear boxes supposed to be crap in the same way the R-tronic is?The problem with wanting a modern car is that you are going to get depreciation and probably quite chunky. If you're only thinking of owning it for two years why not just lease something and lock out that risk?
It's probably only a 90's Ferrari or Porker that could absolve you from depreciation, be in your price range etc?

I never said I expect to avoid depreciation, I said something that's not going to lose tens of thousands in 2 years. )
And that's what I was referring to. I can't see how the stuff listed so far isn't going to continue depreciating at its current rates and easily drop 10-20% over your time frame?hven said:

Been out in a friends MC Stradale (4 seat) today, cracking car, as a daily driver it is so special. But even a 4.7 Maserati MC Shift is a great car, their gearboxes have had a lot of abuse but they're not as bad as the journos make out. If revs are above 5K the shifts are very crisp. If you do a lot of town driving though the automatic may be a better bet. If your budget is 70-75K Aston Martin DB9? If you could manual V12 Vantage is a much better bet -TOP555 have one on for £71,950 09/09 29K Miles in red and looks the business! Only possible downside is you may find the carbon bucket seats too harsh as a daily driver?
A 997 GTS or 4GTS is worth a look, hear nothing but great reviews about them either manual or PDK - granted to some they look mundane but they're the cream of the 'normal' 911s.
To whoever made the comment of a 430 - lovely cars, but as a daily driver possibly too impractical, not much boot space at all, and if you do above 5K miles per year you'd get stung with more depreciation etc.
In regards to R8 Coupe or Spyder or not bothered which? v10 versions of either fantastic, exhaust a bit contrived standard though, manual better than R-tronic but that gearbox isn't that bad.
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned but F-Type Coupe either V6S or V8R could be a great daily driver? Apparently massive discounts to buy/spec new too but obviously that'll go against the depreciation a bit one would assume.
Best thing you can do is narrow it down and test drive and see what you prefer?
Good Luck
This would be my first choice, it looks like the MC Stradale but has the Auto Box so it's better suited to everyday stop start driving.

But I have to say my 4.7 with MC Shift was fantastic, drive both & take your pick.

Your car spec starts to sound like you should get a pack of Top-Trumps and see which card rests on top!
Perhaps your choice should be more of an emotional one. £70k toy is a special thing that will have a sizeable impact on your lifestyle.
What makes you weak at the knees at the thought of it in your garage? What would make you feel like the crap week you've just had at work was worthwhile when you drive it?
At £70k price point, whatever you get will have significant depreciation. Figure what your comfortable with and buy from the heart.
Good luck with the hunt.

Rather than thinking of the budget as £70k, think how much will it cost me to own over say 2 or 3 years. I spent a bit more up front on my V12V than I would have on a new car, but the ownership cost may end up no higher.
Who knows whether I would have preferred a new F Type (wouldn't dare say that on the Aston forum!)? But I do get great pleasure from the Aston.

I like that.Is it possible that v10 r8 manuals and v12v manuals might slow depreciation and possibly even appreciate?
Also running costs are a big worry for. 70 k gallado isn't it 5 k for a clutch.
There might be a lot to say for an f type coupe nearly new with lots of warranty. Although depreciation on these isn't great.

Or brand new ( just thinking brand new vs 10/11 plate other options posted.

Buy a £35k mustang won't lose much on one of those. OK not super car.

Evora, Cayman gts, carrera, granturismo etc are all missing the point of his request for the car to have done most of its depreciating surely?
Cayman GTS won't depreciate much. They're already above list in classfields.I would on a GT4, but that's a different matter and you can't buy one of those anyhow.
