Got a 70k budget, want something special but practical. Only need two seats but will be my main car and must have enough luggage space for a trip to tesco.

Don't want something that looks dated inside and out and also would like something that's gotten rid of most of it's depreciation and will not lose me tens of thousands if I only own it for a couple years.

Obviously been looking at R8's but what else should I be looking at? Not sure Carrera S's really do it for me looks wise

Ferrari 355 and change? Surely good ones are only going to increase in value?

Edit, just had a look, not much change but prices only seem to be going one way. Manual, tin top, Tour de France blue and cream leather. cloud9

Corvette Stingray or Cayman GTS.

I'd be looking at R8 as stated or Carrera S, however.

Bit of a left field choice - Lotus Evora S.

Can be had as a 2+2, reliable Toyota engine, great handling, and if you get one a couple of years old they seem to hold their value rather well.

TVR Sagaris values are holding very firm too, though that might require a bit more love to stay 100% reliable.

Audi R8 Spyder seems like a great all rounder for the money too.

Evora, Cayman gts, carrera, granturismo etc are all missing the point of his request for the car to have done most of its depreciating surely?

Are Ferrari Californias that cheap yet? As long as you don't do a lot of miles anyway.

the mc stradale looks great and is in my price range but aren't the robot gear boxes supposed to be crap in the same way the R-tronic is?

Isnt this the sort of budget where you could buy an older 911 turbo and sell it for ten times what you paid for it in 6 months?

yea, considered them but few things put me off, they're quite slow and depreciate more than R8's. Think a 2012 Vantage S would lose me a lot more than a 2011 V10 manual R8. Still think the aston looks really special but would choose the R8 probably.

It was heavily criticised in early cars but the revised 'box in newer cars is supposed to be fantastic.

Cayman GTS won't depreciate much. They're already above list in classfields.
