Really??.....

The mustang is shorter in length, than Merc E class, BMW 5 series, BMW 6 series, Jag XF, Audi A6, Lexus GS

In fact a quick Google tells me. It's shorter than

S max
Mondeo
Insignia
Pug 508
Passat
Volvo S80
And is only 1" longer than a Laguna

I see an opportunity here for Hertz to repeat the success they had in the USA with the rent a racer program they ran. I had the opportunity to run a Hertz Shelby Mustang for a month of so on a business trip a few years ago. It was a lot more fun than the usual rental fare, plus 140mph over the causeway from Tampa Bay to St Petersburg at 3.00am in the morning was a major giggle, if somewhat stupid in retrospect if I had been caught..nonohehe

Totally agree, I think I may get 6 months out of mine and sell in the summer at little loss, there again I may just love it.

Once they hit the road the uninformed or must have it crew will want them as will car dealers and they will be in demand. Depends on Ford his many arrive.

We are getting ripped off here though with prices ,In the usa prices start at £16k for the V6 and there are loads of demonstrators with low miles (1,000 to 6,000) with extras for £16k ,for the brand new 2015 mustang,
same with the Subaru BRZ , 16k . There is only shipping and a bit of tax to add. Do they make the BRZ in America? why is it so cheap there? Also if that's the case a Rolls Royce or Bentley should be a lot more in the US . have a look at my link to ebay usa , prices for new mustang shape, are from $26,000 (£16,100) !!!!some are make offer and there are no offers ,so how cheap can you get one

And in the USA city centres are filled with homeless drug addicts with no access to social or health care. We pay a lot more taxes on things in the UK and that makes up a lot of the price difference - other than the obvious costs of R&D converting a car to RHD, shipping costs, admin costs, etc.

Just be pleased you don't live in Australia or worse Brazil, Russia, etc. Take a look at car prices there!!!
And in the USA we earn and spend dollars not pounds - the conversion is totally irrelevant. A 30,000 car is a 30,000 car both in the US and the UK. They are only cheaper here in the US if you earn pounds and not many of us do that.

I own a Monaro and I know, stock, the VXR8 is miles better. The Mustang... who knows. It's good - seems to hold its own against the Camaro/Challenger (ish). I expect it to be good.

There is no discount to be had! Ford are controlling the stock so there won't be loads floating around.

Can't wait to get our demonstrator!
Are you a dealer ?
Yep.

Rehab, are dealers supporting the ford racing supercharging which gives 620 hp?
Not as far as I'm aware. I've heard nothing from Ford re upgrades yet. There's nothing to stop you buying parts and having it fitted, don't know what that would do to the warranty though.

They're small but they're not so bad. A couple of adults can cope with a short journey no problem, as long as they're not too tall.

It's supposed to be very good for the cost.

The aftermarket will of course allow you to refine it however you wish.

If they start at 33k with very little on the options list you sure get a lot of car. This is before the usual Ford discounts that won't be long in coming.

Can't wait to see one on UK roads, if only to see how big it looks on a typical British city street.

Exactly. It does amuse me when these sorts of comments get thrown around, as though market forces don't exist.
Maybe not right at the beginning, but there will be discounts.

At full line speed, Flat Rock employs about 3,000 workers on two shifts with annual capacity of about 220,000.

18000 odd a month minus the Fuzion but with capacity for a third shift

That's a lot of cars

Indeed. They should be chalk and cheese but they are not. A top spec hsv is twice the price and no quicker or equipped. Holden vauxhall have a problem. My brother had a minaro and it was not exactly a great car. Good vale then but not now

Given delivery times are currently being quoted at a year after order, I'm guessing demand is high enough to outstrip supply for a good while. I doubt they need to flog build slots to keep the factory running at capacity.

I bought my last new car in 2005 and sold it on, at a great loss, 3 years later. I promised myself that I would never buy a new car again and carried on using my 16 year old e36 323.

Sometimes, when I was working at the Olympic Park, I'd walk through the Westfield car park and just think that there were no new cars that floated my boat. In order to replace my e36 with a similar BMW, I would be looking at £30,000 odd just for another modern bland 320.

When news came of the 6th gen Mustang coming to the UK, I followed with interest but was sure that it would be unaffordable once on our shores.

When they announced the 'bargain' prices back in January, I placed my deposit straightaway.

I don't care if it's brash, if it's a little large, if it's handling is not quite up there and uses loads of fuel (I ran a Grand Marquis 4.6 V8 as a daily over the past year).

It's a bloody Mustang biggrin
Good on you.

I have only ever ordered one new car and like you sold it on at a punishing loss.. After that I never could justify a another new car. This on the other hand seems to be excellent VFM...

However I already have a yank V8 in my garage and another on the drive seems a tad excessive ! smile
