The right result!

Don't see how the other driver could argue otherwise.

Well done...

You need to get a dashcam, for what they cost(£50) it can save all the hassle.

It would've pushed this whole episode along much quicker, that's for sure.

I have a Drift helmet cam I used on my bike somewhere - I'll see if I can rig that up in the car.

Result!

But looking at your pics it seems pretty clear cut yet still took 5 months to settle - whats that all about then?

Good question. Someone drove into me on a roundabout last December and my insurance company are still trying to reclaim my excess from the other party. It's now with the courts. To be honest, it was so long ago now that I've basically written off the money so it will be a nice surprise if I ever actually get anything back.

roundabouts are terrible !

trouble is the markings are on the entry to the roundabout - once on the roundabout its classed as a single track road and you can be left hung out to dry - really these time we all need car cams for our own safety lol.

Even though it eventually went in the OP's favour he's still gonna get shafted for the next 5 years when it comes to renewal time and that question about 'Have you had any accidents or claims in the last five years?'.
Such a racket. It's all wrong.

Would it (a dashcam) have made any difference? From your description the other car drove into the side of you. Even if the camera caught that, what does it prove - there was no dispute that the cars hit each other!

OP - did you ask Europa Consultants for their help or advice.

PS. Thanks for the update.

I didn't, no.

I understand what you're all saying and it's why I was so frustrated over the whole thing. It was (in my eyes) clear as what happened based on the road markings approaching the roundabout and the positioning of the impact.

I'd sent diagrams, maps, photos, detailed explanations - the lot. The other driver, on his initial accident report form, literally wrote 'the red car hit me' and ticked the 'other driver' box when asked who was to blame.

So straight away it went to a 50/50 dispute and with no witnesses I was told immediately that roundabout claims almost always go 50/50. Honestly it seemed like Churchill didn't want to spend the time or resource to fight my corner, they just wanted the quickest and easiest resolution for themselves. This is why I have no faith in car insurance frankly.
