I like and notice 6 series Bimmers. I don't even see 5 series ones unless I'm behind one at a stop light and it has the M badge.

The thing is insanely fast. I had mine delimited at Hartge in Germany the day I bought it and dan 3000 KM in the first four days, tracked it and the Ring, and went for a Vmax run on the autobahn……here it is flat out. Have a look at revs…..7600RPM in seventh and the gas gauge actually moves in three minutes……..I was short shifting as the car was not run in. Car in front is another M6….

I think we seem to be in the minority here, but I agree.

I still think I'd prefer an M5, but a Sepang Bronze M6 wouldn't go amiss

That looks superb yes

At these kinds of prices it would make one heck of a donor to transform an E30.

I remember watching your video and just couldnt believe how a BMW could be so fast.

Over 150mph it is mental.

NO point buying M6. I had 635d with Bluefin upgrade and produced same torque ie 560Nm and half the fuel consumption.
Sigh.

Agree and it makes me sad when I read things like this and I just don't get how anyone could ever love a diesel engine because they are just so soul destroying to listen to and impossible to love regardless of how quick and economical they might be.

The best thing is they still look modern and are still head turners.

Get it in the right colour and its a thing of beauty.

True. I got mine in ruby black metallic which was an individual colour, and on reflection, too dark. I liked my interior though, which might not be for everyone. It wore very well:

I have a 650i convertible. I often look longingly at M6's but really, whats the point? The M6 sounds better, is a little quicker, but the parts prices are mental. The 650i has regular tyre, brake and consumable costs but the M6 will ruin you if it needs new pads and discs.

I never get near the 650's limit and I drive like i've sat on a wasp. I've been there before with 'mental' (I had an E55 AMG) and while I loved the performance you just can't use it 99% of the time. The 650 is way too quick for normal use - I commute to London every day and if I squirt the accelerator to overtake it's plenty.

Don't get me wrong, I love the M6, principally for the noise, but it's not that special over the 650 to deserve a significant purchase and running costs premium.

I won't sell the 650 though - toyed with it but I think it's honestly the most practical, quick and likeable four seat coupe available, and I've driven lots.

The M6 will go down as a classic. That V10 is the last bonkers engine BMW will ever do. For that, I reckon the prices will firm up quicker than we reckon.

What's the point in a 650i when you can have an M6?

Never had a V10 M6, but I had one of the new V8 M6s (cabrio) which I bought new.

Bit of a troubled car, way too heavy and dull in feel to be a good sports car, and not luxurious, comfortable or special enough to be a good GT car. In the end was just a bit bad at everything. Handsome thing though.

Sold it in 8 months and lost a solid 5 figures on it - and that was with a 30k discount on list price! So they've always been great at depreciating, I'll never buy one again that's for sure!!

The V10 wail does make me give them a second look though, only reason I'd buy one.
