At that age I wouldn't want a range rover without a real reason though, I'd want something faster

The split tailgate on the RR makes this process a doddle. Plus he can get 3 in there at a time so means he has to do less trips back and forth to his spot. Man maths suggests this allows him to justify having the 4.4 V8 over the diesel variant.
Or he got it because he thinks it will make up for the fact he is a personality vacuum and girls will sleep with him (all my money is on this and if anyone can spot me another few £k, I'll put it on this too). Pretending to be a race car driver/ professional pilot/ landed gentry/ classy hasn't worked thus far. He's persistent at least!
