So is this going to turn in to a dashcam wker thread ?
If so, I have a nomination: https://youtu.be/_0iODbJik3E
Be warned, language is absolutely terrible, so definitely NSFW or if little people are around.
Oh and wait for the end

Bloody hell, it's Muhammad "I'm hard" Bruce Lee!

Careful about that. Arrows on the road are advisory not mandatory unless there's also a mandatory sign. Is there one?Otherwise think of it as 'best take this lane if you want to turn left'
If someone hasn't seen the arrow on the road, not here but often the cae when theyre wet and look black the same colour as the road, theyd expect to take that lane to go straight on and may have thought there was some numpty in a similar car trying to overtake them on the roundabout. Doesnt excuse what happens next but goes some way to explain it.
Great these dashcams

I travel on quite a lot of those roads and if I saw that Disco there is no way that I could possibly restrain myself from cutting him up, undertaking, lane changing - I'd follow them round and make it my hobby There's all the 'beeps' too, presumably where he is saving the dashcam clip; I've a suspicion that they batch them up every day and send the clips to the police.
He looks such a mild mannered, chubby, vapid pudding too. And why on earth has he taken that photo on what appears to be a dump? - there's plenty of beautiful scenery in Yorkshire.
What a weapons-grade cocksocket!

Yes maybe it was, because you clearly missed a lot of important stuff. Watch the film again closely or read the freakin thread from page 4. The left lane was painted up as left turn left only. The guy should not have been taking the same exit as cam man, so his wide lane would not disappear - it would be the natural continuation. The left lane should disappear as it was marked turn left.
I'm going to say this is wrong. Perhaps we could do with some clarification on this, (haven't got time to check myself) but those arrows are for guidance only, they are not an instruction, and the lane isn't left turn only. The clio should not have straight-lined the roundabout, but he is under no obligation to turn left, which means camera man is going to chop across the front of him if he's not careful.I think it's a local v non-local situation, (hence the difference in braking between the two cars)and as I've observed myself over many year, locals do seem to like to go out of their way to come into conflict with anyone they perceive to be making a mistake, imo.

Surely though if you were in an accident, there was footage available and the police saw that the accident was caused by you disobeying a road marking/arrow thats apparently only 'advisory', they'd still prosecute you no?Otherwise think of it as 'best take this lane if you want to turn left'

It's like round where I live, it;s all country roads and a few years ago a farmer friend (rightly) was given a rollocking by a policeman for blocking a single lane B road around a blind corner by crossing his cows across it without any warning signs. Thats fair enough but the copper said "I can legally go 60mph down here, if I had ben, I;d have hit the cows'
Fair point, but if I crashed there and he came out and found I'd been doing 60mph which I 'legally' could do, I'd have been nicked for dangerous driving.

I don't think they would because you're not disobeying an instruction.shandyboy said:
But if the straight-lining had resulted in a collision, and the dashcam footage was sent to the insurers, then it would apportion blame squarely on rage-knob's shoulders, surely?
I think so yes, though I believe insurers normally treat shunts on roundabouts as 50:50.In this case they're the only vehicles in the vicinity and I wonder if the insurers would treat it that they did not need to be within striking distance of each other.

Both as bad as each other. Car with camera made the first aggressive move - if you can't see it, you shouldn't be driving.
I thought it was only me that could see this. Agree he turned out to be a complete wazzock but you tried to 'do him' on a roundabout, and not a particarly big one at that, when its dead quiet and the pair of you are getting a bit of a move on, even if he'd stayed in his lane you would of been cutting across the front of him exiting the roundabout where your lane rapidly disappears, pointless manoeuvre, its not like the lead car was dawdling around was it?Having said that, the camera car did straight line the 3rd roundabout in exactly the same way trying to pursue the clio.
ETA : Also the controversial roundabout had 2 lanes on exit for a short while so even if the inside lane was straight on the dash cam car was still in the correct lane.

TBH I thought the second roundabout at 50 seconds in it was damn obvious what was going to happen there....... seen it so many times before and personally I think I would have anticipated that and avoided getting so close. Did you hoot the horn?Anyway, after that he drives like a total psycho and should clearly be banned. Grade A knob.... either the police will get to him or sooner or later he will do that to the 'wrong' sort of person and find himself rammed off the road or with his head kicked in.
