Where is that? Theyve got merge in turn arrows in both lanes - makes a pleasant change yes

Outskirts of Norwich. For some quirky reason that lane is often devoid of vehicles. I guess many drivers don't realise there is a separate turn right lane. It's often possible to perform the same trick in the opposite direction too. smile

Never seen that b4. Nice. Normally if in the right lane, I'll put my foot down, but if Boy racer in his astraboomyexhaustman also floors it, just let it go.

Nope, you did exactley the right thing. It is amazing the amount of people who don't use that lane at those lights.

Not at all. Lane of least resistance and I like the 'neutral' arrows.

Nothing wrong with what you did, but in my area the layout at similar junctions is different, and you'd get stuck either behind a car turning right, or trying to merge back in again after the lights.
More speed = more stress.
I don't know the junction in the video but I'd be in the left hand queue and be quite happy.

Nothing wrong there, arrow shows ahead, and you went ahead.

There's a few of those in Aberdeen as well, which are similarly devoid of vehicles allowing me to pass 10+ vehicles effortlessly. Same with the bus lanes when not in operation.

You are in the right. The problem occurs on the inside lane when somebody and there often is, takes offence. Is quicker off the mark than you and takes you on.

Regarding driving round roundabouts, iirc you can be done for inconsiderate driving if the arrows on the road show directions to take. I think you would have to be pretty unlucky to get pulled though.
Now someone will pop up to say lane markings are only advisory unless backed up with signage and traffic orders.

Mark, I just love the bus lanes in Aberdeen, nothing better than having Union St to yourself. Incidentally I queried with the council about those signs at junctions which allow cars to filter left to turn left, and the sign indicating ahead is for buses only, they confirmed in writing they do not apply when the bus lane is not in operation.

Obvious really, but I like so things in writing.
