Yes, agree. Also clocked markings but wouldn't pull out like that... 50:50

Thought Bmw was prob coming straight across initially.

Have we had the mental video from last week of 3 trucks turning the A75 into a 3 lane road while they all race for the ferry?

I'm not convinced the camera car driver wanted to turn left there, he looked like he was aiming to go straight on at first.

Driving instructor and Range Rover Sport meet...

The instructor was part of the problem here but the RR driver was an aggressive f@ckwit... He also dressed / looked exactly how I would imagine confirming the image problem RR Sports have... self entitled cretin.
You haven't met enough RR drivers if that's the image you have in your head. Driving instructor's driving fell well short of that expected from someone in his position.

Is youtube video rubbish for me as everyone else. All I was getting was
camera guy enters and roundabout in left lane
honking horn
swearing
and guy with camera has drifted into other lane for some reason with a BMW half ahead
Looking again it looks like one of those roundabouts where 2 lanes in take 2 lanes out, but why did the camera car drift into the other lane?

What overtake? He pulled out and went to go straight over the roundabout as was his right. The BMW to his right decided to try turn left from the right hand lane across the front of him which he had no right to do.

HMmm thats something had not thought of. It could be cam car was indicating left on approach and then went to go straight over therefore giving the BMW the impression he was going to turn left and BMW could do the same.

Yet again however the BMW would be in the wrong as lane markings clearly showed the BMW's lane was straight on only. He should never have gone left from his lane.

The camera car was entirely at fault. It is obvious the RRS was going to merg, yet the driving instructor aggressively drove his car up the inside.
Interestingly the RRS subsequently lets in a car ahead of him.

No it isn't. Try reading the comments, they describe exactly what happened.

Summary is two lanes in, two lanes out, yes, but only for straight on. Left lane is straight on or turn left. Camera car is in the left lane, the BM is in the right lane for straight on. We are unsure if the camera car is going straight on or turning left, but halfway round the BM cut him up either way by taking the left exit from the right hand lane.

Haven't read through the whole thread, but do cyclists count?
If so, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0EXDcKmcRQ was about 40 mins ago, on my way home from Cambridge.

Watching the vid it looks to me as if the cam car takes the only course of action open which is to take left lane to avoid the bmw its certainly what I would do. Massively inconvenient but rather go down a road not planned than run into some pillock who cant drive.

Well in the absence of decent youtube here
The road markings are advisory unless there are signs showing what is mandatory

If the camera car is in the left lane into the roundabout and takes the left lane going out of it and the bmw takes lane 2 in and lane 2 out at that first turn, the only thing wrong is somehow the camera car drifts into lane 2 of that turn for no apparant reason

If on the other hand the camera car is trying to take the second exit but has to abort and take the first turn because the bmw has taken the left turn across the camera car's bows I can see the problem smile

So what really happened?

Having watched both the front and rear camera view, the Dashcam driver, to me anyway, seemed to be going straight on and the markings on the road allowed him to do that but when the BMW driver came up on the outside of him intending to go left when he shouldn't have done so the Dashcam car had no choice but to go left too!

It's Cambridge, so cyclists doing stupid things is a pretty common sight!

His own driving is flamboyant in his other videos to say the least, including getting annoyed with lane hoggers and passing on the inside, yet here he's happy to queue for miles with the sheep in one lane and get annoyed with people using the other.

The blocking driver needs dragging out of their car and given a lesson in "use both lanes" and "merge in turn".

Weve seen one of these before.
Merge in turn doesnt mean race to the front and push in there, it means merge in your turn.
The problem is there are just enough people going up the inside to prevent the outside lane moving. As if to prove it once the blocking begins the outside lane begins moving again.
So if everyone in the inside lane held station with those in the outside lane until they got to the merge point to merge in their turn, the whole thing would work properly and the queue would be half as long as it is
