At 1.37 it's the camera car that's in the wrong and yet the stupid woman driving the camera car is blaming the VW!!
Called not paying attention, tt.
Not necessarily wink
You might think it's merge in turn the way they're driving right up to the cones but have a look at the temporary catseye markings

Isn't the VW supposed to move over? It's followed the normal lane markings, as at least 2 posters here would have done.
I said in a previous video, if I was dictator in charge of that layout and that's how they were using it I'd be out there with fresh paint, pogo sticks & cones until everyone was doing it right smash

If the camcar was a truck and side swiped the back of the VW whose fault would it be?
Road layout, person in front, person behind? Who's in best position to avoid?

VW didn't move over, but doesn't eliminate the lack of observation of the other driver, who I think was at fault, anyway my opinion.

Agree with Martin4x4's comments.

Some other vids on there were atrocious.

VW was a fault I agree.
It is however another example of putting yourself is the poorest possible position during a merge...fail for the car on that.

Agreed. The VW misread the utterly useless road markings and they're probably not the only one
However the person behind is the one that can and should give way (you can't give way from the front)
to avoid a collision if someone else has made a mistake
The cam car did smile
The truck in previous didn't frown

Agree with Ord too about you either get in front or stay behind. No messing about half and half

That's difficult to do in 50 mph average speed areas. Lots of side by side action and I think sometimes it's impossible not to linger outside of the area covered by the rear view and door mirrors.

Ideally we'd all have cruise control and never need to deviate from our chosen speeds. But in practice, cars fluctuate their speeds often, so trying to get in a good flow and stick to one speed is quite challenging.

Question? When will all the idiots on here stop arguin and start simply posting videos?

I know this is PH and we LOVE a good argument where one person claims the sky is blue and another vociferously argues that the sky is in fact Blue but come one it gets seriously boring when on a video thread.

With the VW episode, given that there must have been warning signs of the outside lane coming to an end, and the screaming when it almost hit the fan, my take is the driver wasn't paying attention.

Had this happen to me on the M74 when three lanes reduce to two as you get further north. Lane 1, busy about 60' ish, me in lane two 70 passing those in L1, when a clever chappie decides he can make it to the end of L3 before it ran out.

He realised just in time he wouldn't make it, and left some rubber on the deck anchoring up, meanwhile I am having a brown trouser moment..............

As a side note, I've now enthusiastically waved at a cyclist and then me and my wife both waved at a biker wearing a cam too.

Both waved/smiled back so I'm hoping to see a new wave of video compilations where everyone is being friendly smile

It is easy to stagger, we do it all the time when lanes go two to one.

Is that a rhetorical question? I mean, you don't really need any help answering that do you??

There was a Biker killed further out at Ottringham a few years ago, when he tried to overtake a Truck turning right.

The Police Biker killed a few months ago was on the other road to Withersea just outside Burstwick.

If you watch the full video, it's not that straight forward.

Cyclist had right of way, but poor lighting, dark clothing and was drunk (& perhaps stoned).

Car should have given way, but wtf did he stop? I'm guessing he just froze when he saw the cyclist.

Why didn't the cyclist attempt to stop or swerve? He had plenty of time after car stopped, probably because he was drunk.

I think I would have to go 50-50.

Oh for Gods sake, this one is going to cause some fighting!

At the end of the video it says something about the bike rider not being charged or even breathalysed because it's not required. Maybe the law is different up here in Scotland but I'm pretty sure you can be charged for cycling a bike while drunk and I have a vague memory of an uncle being on the receiving end of the many years ago. Perhaps that isn't the case and he was less than honest with me.

Is your question a rhetorical question?

I don't seek actual answers for any quandaries in my judgement on issues in these hallowed halls of weighty debates.

Hopefully if yours is not, that helps you sleep tonight.

Apparently this bus driver is quite famous in Russia for his willfully lazy attempts at braking when people cut in front of him.
