Bradford...

First time I've genuinely been truly amazed/appalled at a driver's sheer idiocy (in real life at least - this isn't Russia after all).
Are you new to the area?

I was in Bradford for the first time ever 2 weeks ago. First time I've witnessed cars doing 70mph down residential back streets or cars parking in the middle of the road to talk to their mates without giving a toss for anyone else.

I was truly staggered at the lack of consideration and driving skills.

On the plus side, I did pick up an awesome curry! smile

Do you think the chassis designer considered the frame load! Surprised it doesn't crack.

Some people just become incensed when they get overtaken.

What I find ironic about that though is that these are often people driving needlessly slowly on NSL roads...if you don't want to be overtaken, drive faster.
Reminds me of heading north towards Bath on the A36 after the A303, two other cars in one journey dawdling along at barely half the speed limit creating rolling road blocks (nope, weren't towing caravans), and when you have the cheek to safely overtake you can get the full beam treatment for the next minute. Are they blind as well as thick? We need more NSL dual carriageways!

I think it's the 'queuing mentality' of Britain. Most road users believe that it's a queueing process and to be overtaken is relieving them of that right...it's why it also annoys me when people travel so closely to others, yet have no interest in trying an overtake. This means you can't advance on the road as instead of overtaking them one by one, you have to pass one or more car, or give up trying to pass.

Is this the next Angry Dashcam Man?
Ridiculous overreactions to minor incidents? check
Complete failure to anticipate, well, anything? Check
Drives dangerously to show his displeasure? check
Plenty of colourful, if repetitive, language? check
Lightening quick on the horn? check
Equally foul mouthed and angry mrs? check

Loses points for individual clips rather than compilations
Bonus point - is Scottish
I always seem to miss the best ones before they're deleted. Lancashire has its own milder version. Most people are a Penis and he likes overtaking people on the inside to make a point about lane hogging even though he got his five minutes of fame supporting the guy blocking the lane in the Liverpool "queue jumping" video.

I agree.

Typical small minded bigot.

Solid advice though. Don't need that kind of narrow minded idiocy polluting the gene pool

Not been funny, but if you can afford it (and the hassle of installation), then why on earth not?

My dashcam just saved me £463. Even the insurance company said it would definitely have gone 50/50 without the footage.

I only have a forward facing one (in the hope that if I'm ever rear-ended it will show I'm stopped or whatever), but I don't see any point in getting upset because someone has two dashcams.

If you are (which I hope you aren't) ever involved in an accident where the other party later changes their story, you would be thankful if you had definitive proof...

There's a clique on here that like to be-little everyone with a dashcam as a "dashcam warrior", and whilst it's fun to upload clips from youtube, the potential for it to save you a whole shed-load of money, worry and inconvenience is too great to dismiss.

Quite. I got my dashcam after an accident where I was shunted into the car in front after he wasn't paying attention at the slowing traffic and hit the anchors to the point that he had to swerve onto the verge to avoid the car in front of him. I stopped in time but the car behind me didn't and shunted me into him. The car in front claimed I hit him first. It took almost a year for the claim to be closed with various disputes and me stuck, literally in the middle. A dashcam would have solved all of that. I'm tempted to get a rearward facing one too. I have mine on and I forget it's there most of the time, until something stupid happens.

I got reversed into a couple of months ago. In short, the guy in front started to turn left the wrong way down a temp one way, then when stopped, slammed it into reverse straight back into me to turn right. I hadn't moved, so his original space was still there. He didn't look.

Pretty sure I know what way that would have gone without cam footage. It's taken 2 months for the 3rd party insurance to admit liability with the footage.

I don't spend every five minutes uploading st driving to YouTube though. Even though with the annual mileage I do, I would have had loads of bad driving footage by now. I have better things to do and don't even have a YouTube account.

Was that it? Complete non event. Try driving out of London on any DC any evening. That's the norm.
