The old guy shouldn't have even been on the road given he couldn't manage to reverse a few meters in a straight line, almost runs over the guy on the pavement and nearly drives into the woman's car. Personally I would have done exactly the same thing as the woman until the Police arrived and breathalysed him. As for the tosser in the high vis and all the others trying to bully her I'm as happy as Larry she stuck to her principles.
One thing i've learned in my past 5 years in the motor trade - practically nobody can reverse. And a few years back I worked at a garage that only had a straight drive in and reverse out - and nobody, I mean nobody (apart from me of course ), could reverse well in a straight line. The number who simply couldn't do it at all astonished me.Which is maybe what was at the root of this - I've gonna get flamed, but old peeps and women of all ages are really, really poor at reversing (though the woman certainly didn't have far to reverse) so for either of them, reversing was going to be a big deal.

That guy was a genuine dick, who was every bit as bad a most of the people he filmed.
Why do pricks like this always attract so many problems ?....I don't see that many fk-ups in a year !Consequently, my dash-cam footage would be very dull.

Regardless of who was technically in the right, the old bloke seemed like a bloody liability behind the wheel. The old guy shouldn't have even been on the road given he couldn't manage to reverse a few meters in a straight line, almost runs over the guy on the pavement and nearly drives into the woman's car. Maybe I will be flamed here but:With "Old" folk it is easy to stress them to levels that makes it hard for them to concentrate....I have seen many many cases of "young guns" treating the elderly with massive disrespect and disregard to shameful levels. (Maybe not in this particular case I add)
It is OUR duty as fully able bodied to keep that to a minimum.
As such, if this was a disabled driver, would people be screaming "Remove his License" ?
The roads are NOT just for the fully able.
Steel Hard Hat applied ready for fall out.

If they are unable to reverse their car in a straight line, yes, absolutely. That's the whole point of the driving test, disability or no disability. If you can't meet the standards required to hold a driving licence then you shouldn't be on the road, period.http://www.carbuzz.com/news/2015/9/22/Mitsubishi-E... this one's doing the rounds on lancerregister. Aplogies if its a repost.

When they have been stressed out to maximum levels ?......which is the point of my post.IF you think that, go to Tesco's and remove the license from 50% of the women parking there......cus they can't either

Oh so it was a public service, she wanted to wait for the police, yet she was happy to drive off in the end and have him drive away too?The old guy shouldn't have even been on the road given he couldn't manage to reverse a few meters in a straight line, almost runs over the guy on the pavement and nearly drives into the woman's car. Fine by me. Stress or no stress, if you can't reverse 30ft on a near enough straight and level bit of road you shouldn't be allowed a driving licence.IF you think that, go to Tesco's and remove the license from 50% of the women parking there......cus they can't either

Well, that's a refreshing opinion we haven't had before! Not saying I share your opinion. She probably had right of way but she should have reversed to let everyone else get on with their day. The gent was beyond reasoning with.I seems clear the older gentlemen was struggling so why not take it on the chin and move on with life.

From the highway code section 1:"The rules in The Highway Code do not give you the right of way in any circumstance, but they advise you when you should give way to others. Always give way if it can help to avoid an incident."
