Personally I would have done exactly the same thing as the woman until the Police arrived and breathalysed him. As for the tosser in the high vis and all the others trying to bully her I'm as happy as Larry she stuck to her principles.
Well, that's a refreshing opinion we haven't had before! Not saying I share your opinion. She probably had right of way but she should have reversed to let everyone else get on with their day. The gent was beyond reasoning with.
Even if the guy was in the wrong it would have been much easier to back-down, reverse out and just get on with life. To sit there for 30mins and hold up traffic was mental.

I seems clear the older gentlemen was struggling so why not take it on the chin and move on with life.
Thanks for rewording my post smile

Not exactly a dashcam but thought it might give someone a chuckle. A trackday I was on last month where some idiot decided to ignore the rules of the track that state you do not dive down the inside of other cars but instead pass on the left. Skip to 14.50 for the impact.

Old guy is in the wrong as you have clear line of sight through the tunnel and he didn't have right of way. This is the tunnel. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.5200062,-0.71374...
There is a give way sign for the irritating woman.
The lady driver had priority. There's a clear line of sight through the bridge, as can be seen in this image. I use it every day, it's not difficult.

She did have priority - however:

1. The view you have posted shows the view from the female drivers perspective. The view from the other side on the lead up to the tunnel is far less clear cut. Even right at the entrance to the tunnel past the give way - you wouldn't see a car that was at the "priority" sign. IMO he was already committed to the tunnel before she reached the sign - and so she should have yielded to avoid an incident.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.5200062,-0.71374...

2. Where the vehicles ultimately came to a stop in the tunnel indicates to me that the male driver had crossed their give way markings before the female driver passed her "priority" sign. Using google maps measurement tool, I estimate the distance he had traveled was around 25-30m past the give way - whereas she had only traveled around 15m past the priority sign.

3. Even though the female driver did have priority - people can and do make genuine mistakes - was this really worth getting into a 45 minute pissing contest over, inconveniencing dozens of other road users just to make what point exactly? Her reverse was far easier, shorter and quicker - and arguably safer than his would have been given he would have to negotiate a corner. If you are pissed off, fine - let your feelings be known - but then get the fk on with your journey.

As I have said already, I drive though there a lot. It is just as clear from the other side. You can see all the way through, no part of the road is obscured until it goes around the bend. You would see the car unless you were blind.

Love to know what kicked this off. Must be more than a bent mirror to think about whacking him over the head with a spanner.

Doesn't look like it to me. If the woman's car had already rounded the corner that you can just about see the apex to and was on approach to the priority sign - it could easily be missed - there is a definite blind spot there.

If you're interested, I've lived near there for 35 years and you can see perfectly. There's no debate. smile

That view is from the wrong side of the road, from the left side you can see fine. Chap above is correct.

My Mrs the other night. Probably in vans blind spot. She's so calm haha. I'd have beeped and went mental I think...

No lane changes required on said roundabout.

Tow trucker driver should be in jail for the first moped clip for attempted murder or gbh at the very least.
