So is this going to turn in to a dashcam wker thread ?

If so, I have a nomination: https://youtu.be/_0iODbJik3E

Be warned, language is absolutely terrible, so definitely NSFW or if little people are around.

Oh and wait for the end hehe
^that guy is hilarious, think he might actually be the biggest wker of all the youtube dashcam brigade.

Somehow in this video situation I had a suspicion I shouldn't go past this small truck on its left, whether legal or not. Maybe the biker in the previous posts should have had the same hesitation....
This truck should have been in the left hand lane after the yellow box junction.

YouTube has compressed the quality again, but there's a small prize of a smiley for the correct make/model of the wreck on the back of the truck ... idea
That roundabout is one of the worst I know for idiots who don't look at the signs or road markings! It isn't rocket science FFS!

I couldn't listen to the commentary but just watching those clips shows what a bad, discourteous and intolerant driver he is!
Reminds me of..."What's the difference between a hedgehog and a Discovery?"

The only time he's quiet is at the end..! haha

Seems his missus drives some of the time.

imho half the things he gets excited about are non events. In one of the other videos he's put up everything he sees he says "got that on my f-ing dashcam!" So what ? no-one gives a toss!

The problem with most of the dash cam images are that the drivers are rubbish.>smile

Definitely some of Reading in there... What an ahole. Most of those looked like honest mistakes - the wrong lane at a roundabout for instance.

Bad Idea thread.

Vigilante Dashcam wkers can be just as much tossers as the bad drivers. And bad driving can also be a very subjective.

Clips can still be entertaining, whether the dodgy driving is either (or both) in front of, and/or behind the dash cam!

Is it one of those Volkswagen Polo saloons? I can't remember the shape of their rear lights but I'm 50/50 on whether to guess that or a 3-Series Compact. Both are almost certainly wrong anyway.

Hear hear; WTF has happened to turn half the UK public into a bunch of self righteous grasses? What next - a drone over next door to check on his poor gardening skills ? Dash cam is fine for cash n crash precaution or a record of a fun drive but not for this -'sir sir , look what that bad man did in the Mondeo'. Utterly pathetic.

Agreed; it's the 'little bit of power' thing so yearned for by the powerless. Any chance to manoeuver into a position of righteous indignation. As you say, pathetic.

Oh god this guy. I love the fact he bhes and complains all through the video about people running yellow lights (which you are meant to do...) then he slams on the anchors needlessly at a yellow light at the end and causes a minor accident.

He should have been a little more cautious, but all the same, the driver should have looked before crossing lanes, that's just the done thing. Anyone who uses that stretch of the A1 knows vehicles join from the Kingston Park roundabout and are often considerably faster than the lorries plodding along on the main carriageway, and can often be concealed from sight as they travel on the sliproad. Therefore, it's entirely necessary to always be looking around on that stretch to make sure you don't endanger someone like the idiot driver in this clip does.

Sure, the biker could have mitigated the possible impact of her stupidity by hanging back and waiting to see what she did, and I certainly would have done so. However, the driver has a duty to make observations and to consider more vulnerable and faster road users, and just because she has overtaken a lorry, does not give her ownership of the lane to her nearside. She should have looked, and canned her manoeuvre because it was unsafe.
That's an assumption that causes a lot of problems I'd say.

I'll admit that some of the Russian driving clips are fking hilarious, but we are already the one of the most monitored countries on earth. Even in some corners of PH it seems like performing an undertake or driving 20mph over the speed limit, regardless of the conditions, is moral equivalent of stabbing a puppy. Hell, just the act of enjoying driving seems to be getting more socially unacceptable nowadays. Whereas I would consider driving @ 30 down a tight residential street with parked cars on either side to be pretty careless (though that seems to fine with 90% of motorists from what I've observed), I'm sure some people would find my more spirited driving, when I choose my moments, to be absolutely outrageous.

I can certainly imagine this going a step further with public shamings on more mainstream sites. The last thing any self respecting PH'er should want is the proliferation of dash cam drivers by driving general public.
