Close lorry call.
Impressive braking on the lorry!
And fully loaded as well!
Very impressive. Do wish the guy would answer the question about the Police though!
Whether they pulled the car over? I don't see YT comments, I block them in Adblock so just guessing.

Yes precisely, and he hasn't answered any of them. They bloody should have pulled her over!

No I am not saying it's always the cyclist at fault, that's just a knee jerk reaction from certain members on this forum

The above clip is something both drivers and cyclists need to think about.
It's an old clip and not terribly accurate in that things have moved on a bit, but again I think it just highlights even more why you shouldn't be doing suduko at the wheel (especially of a large vehicle). If that biking club approached from behind I'd hope the driver saw them in his mirror before disappearing and not look up the moment the lights go green and drive right over them as he turns left.
Well that's great, nothing for cyclists or motorists to worry about.

Job done, there is no problem.

Without really wanting to dive into this debate I'd thought I'd share this picture that came up on my Facebook feed. I'm not going to start blaming either driver but I think it demonstrates the issues of both the tipper drivers either not paying attention or being able to see the area immediately in front of them and the fact most people don't realise that these things have massive blind spots and carry on, regardless of their chosen method of transport. Had they been cycling I think you would now be talking about another death. But having a licence didn't stop this car driver from ending up a cropper.
thanks to EU law all trucks now have a mirror above the top of their passenger windscreen which eliminates this blind spot, you can just about make it out in the photo. Obviously not in the drivers line of sight of but it has been proven to have reduced fatalities from this blind spot area

Lorry drivers have become sign-writers, spotted in Bristol this week:-

That's a load of bks. The driver did that deliberately, 100%. The DAF CF cab seat position is fairly low down when compared with other trucks and even on the higher tipper chassis he would've easily been able to see the roof of that car.

Not only that but the drag from trying to push a 1.5 tonne car sideways on a dry tarmac road would produce HUGE amounts of drag. He'd have needed to have his foot planted to the floor in a low gear in order to stand any chance of pushing that 100 yards along the road as stated in the blurb.

Yep, same for that Arclid XF driver as well. The thud and jolt when the car is spun round and slams into the front of the cab would be impossible to miss, not to mention the drag, even on a damp road.

You're in an unknown city with a map and no satnav.
You're stationary at some major lights which have just gone red on you and you know you have some time on your hands.
You look at the map on your lap.

A copper sees you doing this and nicks you for "driving without due care and attention".

Would you swallow it or call it ridiculous ?
My opinion is that navigating your way is part of the process of driving, whether you're reading road signs, sat-nav or a map. I think a more accurate analogy is that in the scenario you describe, you throw a soduko puzzle in.

I've never heard of a driver being prosecuted for navigating.
Ok, so you won't answer a straight question. I was asking how you would react in that scenario.

You're basically saying "if your eyes aren't always up and looking out of the window" - it's DWDCA, except if you're "Navigating". Right then. "Navigating" is obviously some form of "less unsafe" means of taking your eyes off the road which is different to any other distraction. I must learn how to do that.

When you're stationary, you can look at a map, a satnav, a sudoku, juggle, fire-breathe and you are no less unsafe than sitting looking out of the window. YOU ARE STATIONARY.

Goddamn pedestrian. That cyclist had every right to jump a red light, hit you and ride the wrong way down a one way street. The cyclist was black and had headphones on. The only thing missing from the clip was that the cyclist didn't indicate whether they were LGBT....

Not wishing to draw comparison with, say, a motorist eating cereal whilst stationary at lights, but if this video was to be shared with the local constabulary I wonder if words would be had?
