It increases the risk of him not being aware of what's going on around him.

Diverting his attention whilst picking up passengers is an unavoidable risk. Playing sudoku is not.
And a cyclist riding down the side of an HGV when it's turning left is also a risk but I have yet to see certain members of this forum agree with that.

On my drive home tonight a fair percentage of people didn't have their hands on the wheel while in stationary traffic. Yet when driving they all had at least one hand on the wheel.

We don't know if the bus driver was still checking his mirrors ? Yet it's ok for the cyclist to distract him?

I think the prize would be beneficial advice for both cyclist and drivers.

It just isn't going to happen on this forum.

I think the thread won the quiz question for

'Whats more irritating than a real bad anal itch in polite company?'

Other than that, nothing at all.

Unless that's a real bad anal itch whilst being sat stationary at a set of lights, and can't risk taking your attention off the road digging behind your jeans.

What has your post got to do with mine? Why are you quoting me with a story about a cyclist?

My mistake, I came to the conclusion it was a cyclist filming the bus driver, I also came to the conclusion that cyclists were the ones at risk.

I guess not

So if it was a policeman, or a pedestrian, or CCTV catching the driver playing sudoku, does that change the responsibility of the driver to pay attention?

Well to have a small post on topic: https://youtu.be/4EZO3-O8lvo

Typical driving on that roundabout. It's like most drivers have some kind of blindness where they can't see white lines.

How do we know the driver wasn't still paying attention to his surroundings? He can be driving along and still pay attention to his moving surroundings?

Should we all have cameras and look at stationary traffic ?

I admit it's not an ideal situation and had he been seen while actually driving it would be a different story. He shouldn't have been over the first line in the cycle box either but we don't know why he came to be in it.

Caught this today. Unfortunately the camera was at an angle and was facing the sun. Had to slam my brakes on to let him through.

That's some attentive driving by yourself. Did you notice him approaching in your mirrors?

It's not about whether we have cameras. If you agree it's not an ideal situation to be doing a sudoku when stationary then by implication it's adding risk; which was my point.

Whether a cyclist was in a stupid position in the first place to take the film is a completely different question.

To save spamming this thread up I'll save it for another day.

You could always post in the thread I did open where I asked for sensible cycling/driving advice.

When you consider how many buses are on the road in london, they are involved in very few fatal accidents with cyclists.

Every time I come on the forum I see a couple of pages added to this thread and think 'oh good, some more videos to watch' and every time I'm let down because its just two more pages of fking arguing, take it somewhere else for fks sake because I'm guessing most people are as pissed off as I am with it.

Did you check that no pedestrians or cyclists positioned themselves between yourself and your computer keyboard before starting this thread? And were you eating cereal whilst completing a sodoku puzzle? This is a very important matter as it could mean that you were not fully in control of your computer keyboard whilst starting this thread, and that would be bad. Very bad. nono And we would need to reserve the next 10 pages of this thread to tell you how bad you've been, because PH and reasons.
