Please get off our roads.
It's a very common thing for bad drivers to do. I see it every few hours of motorway driving. Given the trucker had identified the bad driver, and the bad driver was running in the hard shoulder (legally), and there was a junction coming up where they would be filtered off. This all adds up to a very good chance that it'll swerve into lane 1.
If you spend any time on motorways either improve your anticipation. Or please get off them. Because otherwise you are as dangerous as the car driver.
Don't get too excited. Firstly, there's no point to this line of conversation 'cos it's not relevant to anything, nothing happened as a result of the car leaving or staying on the m'way. It's my opinion that anybody with a driving licence should have anticipated that car doing that manoeuvre after observing the car and the environment it was in. And anybody who didn't, and also refuses to learn from that, really shouldn't be on the road.
Whoever slowed down to film that cyclist is as big an idiot as the cyclist. When you see someone doing something stupid like that, you want to get as far away form them as possible as quickly as possible, not hang just behind them as they weave in and out of their lane waiting for them to fall off and disappear under your van.

I agree, I'd have gone through red lights and ridden along pavements just to make sure. ManFromDelmonte said:

+ 1 (Except that the phrase is 'as big a', not as 'as bigger'... That said, I quite like your version )

The difference between this and the cereal incident is that obviously the texting affected the cycling - which is irrefutably an offence of careless/inconsiderate cycling.
Well, to try and avoid another 10 page cycling discussion...
This happened on the way home today. I warn you now it's not the most exciting clip, however watching it back made me think that
In hindsight I should have stayed in L1 until both Engines had passed me, but I also think the second Fire Engine's planning was poor to end up cutting across all the lanes to exit (following his colleague rather than thinking for himself?)
Anyway, enough waffle, here's the vid:

- A. I probably should've stayed in L1 longer.
- B. The second Fire Engines planning was poor
