So bikes are allowed to pass the compulsory stop signs (Red X, flashing lights) and are allowed on the hard shoulder to pass stopped traffic?
Technically probably no on either point but who cares if the traffic is at a stand still and if it allows him to filter safer by taking a quick section of hard shoulder it's one less vehicle backing up the resulting tailback.

I don't see any st driving though :P

Whoever slowed down to film that cyclist is as bigger idiot as the cyclist. When you see someone doing something stupid like that, you want to get as far away form them as possible as quickly as possible, not hang just behind them as they weave in and out of their lane waiting for them to fall off and disappear under your van.
+ 1

(Except that the phrase is 'as big a', not as 'as bigger'... That said, I quite like your version smile )
Eh??????? The cyclist was all over the road, even across the lane marker at one point, so the car held back until the cyclist regained control, the car had traffic on his other side, waited for a gap, then still gave the cyclist a wide swerve just in case!

The difference between this and the cereal incident is that obviously the texting affected the cycling - which is irrefutably an offence of careless/inconsiderate cycling.
Slows down to film the stupid cyclist, even adjusts their positioning so the cyclist remains in frame. Then has to gun it to try and make it through the lights before they change, fails, instant karma.
Exactly, there is no-way on Earth the driver would have driven in the same manner had he not had a dashcam.

p.s. Thanks for the spelling correction.

Well to have a small post on topic: https://youtu.be/4EZO3-O8lvo

Typical driving on that roundabout. It's like most drivers have some kind of blindness where they can't see white lines.
I have to go round that every single day, I feel your pain.

Why are you not keeping up with the flow of traffic? If everyone left gaps like that, ques would be miles long. tongue out

Is there something wrong with the tarmac between you and the cars in front?

I would guess:
A)He knows the light phasing and is unlikely to make it through.
B)He knows that rolling at a constant speed rather than stop start is more mechanically sympathetic.
C)He knows that rolling at a constant speed actually increases traffic flow on the roads.
D)Leaving a reasonable gap allows him to spend more time rolling at a constant speed than following 2 ft off the bumper of the car in front.

Yes, get with the picture, are you a commuter or not?

Accelerate and brake is the name of the game. You knew you were going to be stopped at the lights but like a good commuter you should have kept your foot planted on the gas then planted on the brake. Doesn't really matter which pedal, just keep it planted. driving

What a total f%^ktard. My perception is that it's becoming more common to see people not just going through on amber, but going through a light that has been red for a while - last night for example, the green arrow for the right turn I was at was on, but some total prick whose journey is so much more important than everyone else's came steaming through the junction from the straightahead lane opposite.

I would have (kind of) understood the move if he went onto an empty road, but he went straight into another queue of stationary traffic?

Really?

I don't think it matters what is on the other side of a red light. It's a red light, you stop.

There was a thread on her a few months ago where someone stated that they had never seen a driver use the pavement.

Looks like idiots on bikes aren't the only road users who use the pavement. smile

I know. I've seen some bad driving in my time but nothing comes close to that.

I thought that, isn't that 3 points and £100 nowadays?
