Those lane markings look a bit confusing. Arrows in both lanes point straight ahead but the actual lane markings look to direct the van into your lane.

I'm watching on my phone so I stand to be corrected.

I had to look on Google Maps but those road markings do seem quite misleading. 3 lanes, 3 straight ahead arrows, merging into 2 lanes before opening back up into 3 lanes unless I've missed something. Far left lane should have a left arrow to turn off down the A720 surely?

Not exactly a dashcam but thought it might give someone a chuckle. A trackday I was on last month where some idiot decided to ignore the rules of the track that state you do not dive down the inside of other cars but instead pass on the left. Skip to 14.50 for the impact.

They appear to have a novice sticker on their rear? It's people like that who end up doing worse, I hope you had words with the TDO as their was driving worthy of the BTCC and not through its quality biggrin

The lady driver had priority. There's a clear line of sight through the bridge, as can be seen in this image. I use it every day, it's not difficult.

She did have priority - however:

1. The view you have posted shows the view from the female drivers perspective. The view from the other side on the lead up to the tunnel is far less clear cut. Even right at the entrance to the tunnel past the give way - you wouldn't see a car that was at the "priority" sign.
If you're interested, I've lived near there for 35 years and you can see perfectly. There's no debate. smile
OK - so he probably fked up. Now what? Did that really warrant the woman intentionally blocking the road for over half and hour and causing disruption for dozens of other road users - just to press home the point that he had?

The highway code says you should always give way if it can help avoid an incident. She failed to do this and so cannot claim any sort of moral high ground. There are only degrees of wrong in this incident.

Lads. Video of my Mrs. (I use this road every other day. 1000s of time's in total). Left and middle lane goes straight over here. Next turn off left lane goes left, middle goes left or right and right goes right. Coming other direction is the same.

I guess that guy assumed it was a spiral.

The markings are maybe a bit faded now, and it can be tight for three cars abreast onto the roundabout, but all three lanes are for going on to the roundabout. Left is left down the slip road and straight on, middle is straight on or right, right is for right only. All exits have two lanes and the lanes are marked all the way round the roundabout. All obviously signed both by markings on the road and signs on posts.

I did go and ask him what he was playing at and he apologised and was actually quite a likeable guy so we just shook hands. My cars a stbox anyway so I didn't really care about the paint scuffs which is all it was.

On my first viewing of that clip, I thought the dashcam car was going to take the left exit, and was expecting the van to cut across from the right. As it turned out, I think that was just a case of two lanes trying to fit in to one, and didn't think the van driver did anything particularly wrong.

I lasted 4 mins... wtf is wrong with him? The motorway bits were laughable as he hung in the middle/right hands lanes.
Really is cringe worthy isnt it.
He's the guy who filmed the Liverpool "queue jumping" incident which got him his five minutes of fame where people argued over whether it was right for a Renault Scenic driver to block a Mercedes driver using the inside lane to pass the queue.

Yes it's rather clear if you know what you're looking for there, but almost every time I'm on it someone will unwittingly change lanes. It's a fking nightmare of a roundabout.

Similarly, coming out of Hermiston gait retail park towards the M8, the right 2 lanes out of 4 are for "straight on" (M8) which seems to confuse the masses as someone buggers it up pretty much very time I'm there. I even had an argument with my old man who didn't believe me when I said he'd switched lanes - he's usually clued up about these things hehe

I didn't even notice that!!

That annoys me a little bit now. She said he did swing across quite sharply when she was along side as she was hugging the left kerb along side apparently. The ST does seem to attract muppets, it's embarrassing at times.

I'll just guess he was on the phone, but hopefully just a guy a bit lost and not paying full attention....Not trying to run my better half off the road smile

Having now seen it on a proper size screen you can see that in order for the van to remain in the middle lane onto the roundabout he would have to cross some proper "line" lane markings, whereas doing what he did there are only those tiny 4" square lane markings to his left, so easy to see why he would think he was still in his own lane.

The road markings are properly crap at that roundabout, it's a common occurrence and even though iv'e done that roundabout several times I've ended up in the wrong lane at night.

Some people have sad lives when they would stubbornly sit for 30 minutes to prove a point and people back them up. I drive everyday people make mistakes, I make mistakes but I moan for 5 seconds and carry on.
It is absolutely retarded to just prove a poin in what she or he did and who was in the right who cares no accident just fk loads of people off.
