Mini Cooper wheels on a VW Up, apart from being a bit low, it looks ok to me.

That's a rarity on this thread in that it actually looks good, better in my eyes than most that come with the car, most of which look misplaced themselves.
I agree, it is well suited. If that were a factory option i'd tick it.

with the odd exception, every car shown is a VW or an Audi. From the people who gave the world stretched tyres, it doesn't surprise me. I don't get the VAG scene, still...

If they were genuine Bentley caps, they wouldn't be sat skew like that anyway would they?
Like the Rolls Royce ones that are weighted at the bottom and can spin to stay upright?
Bentley centre caps rotate with the wheel in the usual manner; they're not weighted like RR ones.

Good point.
Better not have a nice car either then.
Or anything nice, for that matter.

Pretty sure they inherited it from the Japanese 70's/80's tuner scene.

I like this thread. There are some abominations but there are also a lot of cohesive designs. More pictures please!

1. I wouldn't have known they weren't standard if you hadn't have said so.

2. It really needs a set of centre caps.

The Up has the same 4x100 pattern as the Mk1 and 2 Golf. So here's a few Golf mk1's with 16" VW Up wheels.

They look great to be honest.

At a place I used to work at, a lad had an Audi RS2 (think it was an RS2 - was a blue estate) and that had Porsche wheels (or something that looked very similar) and maybe Porsche brake calipers. This was well over 10 years ago - were they Porsche wheels or factory?

He didn't look like the sort of person who'd swap his wheels & it was a pretty new car at the time.

I think his point has been proved though - 99% of these look st!
Have you been looking at some of the photos posted. I think you must have it in your eyes if you think that 99% look s**t ! Lots of them look good, some don't most look better than most OEM alloys a lot of cars come with.

The Audi RS2 was a joint project by Audi and Porsche, and came with Porsche wheels, brakes, suspension and mirrors as standard, and was assembled in the Porsche factory.

Every car pictured in this thread has looked utterly ridiculous.

There was a thread about this in the past with loads and loads of different examples and they all looked ste.

Too each their own sadly.
