RE: PHTV - Episode 13
Wednesday 20th May 2015
All good things must come to an end and all that and, with this episode, the first season of PHTV draws to a close. We hope you'll agree we've gone out on a bit of a high though, with a cracking vid of the new Jaguar XE S at Navarra circuit. Sure, a lap of the M25 in a rep-spec diesel would have been more relevant. But not as fun, or photogenic.
PHTV - Episode 13
Drone-tastic and skiddy Jaguar goodness and a whole lot more besides for the latest episode of PHTV
The Alfa Romeo 4C comes under scrutiny in the show too and we have PHers' views on a controversial Shed Of The Week and facelifted BMW M135i - always a hot topic on the forums. We've also got proof of why persistence pays off with PHer videos and a load more besides.
Enjoy the show and we'll see you back down the pub for season two very soon! In the meantime keep your videos coming in and we'll get them uploaded to the Members' Videos page and pick the best ones for future PHTV episodes
Watch it here.
Discussion
Let me have the honour of making the first comment of this episode of my favorite show. Mr Dan I loved allot your Jaguar driving part. AMAZING you truly are a gifted driver for this. I do not like Mr John, I do not think he is trust worthy with so much money, I can tell you agree mr James. He has beaty eyes and can not be trusted. You must give him rules Mr Dan!!! Great show otherwise.
Thanks for the feedback on John's classifieds challenge segments; we filmed them in a batch and the time simply didn't permit to do a section with the driving + they were filmed in/around London so we took an executive decision and reckoned there wouldn't actually be much worthwhile footage if it was just him pottering about in traffic. The format works though and for the next batch we'd already planned to make the test drive a bigger part of the piece so we'll work that into future instalments. And film them out of town where we can actually get some decent footage!
Cheers!
Dan

To be clear, PHTV is good fun.
And the PistonHeads premise is compelling: original content joined to a community as well as a roster of group outings. Along with all the matey asides, a tremendous amount of insight appears to be bubbling to the surface.
People probably wonder how Dan, James and the rest of the PH crew find time for family, friends, sleep, etc.
Good luck and thank you.
Dan is starting to look like he's enjoying himself. Indeed looking almost gleeful on occasion. I think the challenges might be a bit more fun with far, far smaller amounts of money. I still get the impression that the praise for the XE is of the faintest kind. It looks like there is a massive lack of a sense of occasion. Where has the fun gone in cars in general? I was thinking this as I stumbled through the mayhem of Millbrook yesterday. Other than the Tesla and Unimog it was all a bit boring. Nothing new. I found the most enjoyable bit of the day idly cruising round the hill route in an SL, listening to Radio 4. Not good at all.

This. All Alfas are a bit crap. Really? Comical/ pub journalism.
A bit crap is "a" way of describing DT's presentational skills.
This is not very nice to insult MR Dan so I say to you in reply "A bit crap is what your wife does because you are on benefits and cannot afford to feed her properly, perhaps she needs a man with employment!! " Hedge person I hope I have not offended you badly with this statement but it is me being involved in banter, I hope you understand. Have a good evening! A bit crap is "a" way of describing DT's presentational skills.
The whole concept has got potential but you must be or if not you should be asking yourself why on your own forums which are capable of generating 1000's of forum posts per day that these episodes hardly generate any feedback at all. This episode was posted Wednesday and my post today on Saturday is only post number 14........... I could post a video on these forums of a Transit van doing a wheel spin in first gear on wet grass and it would generate more interest, why do you think that is?
