Surely, surely they won't sell a single one of these in the UK (beyond pre-registering and offering as a secondhand car at 50% of list)?

Next year's minicab!

It's not german. They will sell about 4. Just like every other manufacturer that's not german or a jag selling big cars.

Shame really as it looks great and I bet it's well built. Infinity are still niche here too.
I beleive Hyandis sell well in America and are popular in asia

Ohh and it's got a 3.8ltr petrol engine, just what the UK market is looking for. hehe

It's bland but bloody well equipped!

I don't think cars like this do well in the UK. Probably sells well in Asia and the US, but to me it seems another Camry or Legend in the making and just doesn't have the badge of the Euro equivalent for a lot of people.

We have a black one at work - it looks superb from any angle. A real head-turner and everyone stares at it.
The interior looks like a Lexus though - nothing special.
If it was £29k it would sell well.

Is it actually being launched here?

It's listed on the .co.uk website with a price in Sterling...

So would any car if the initial list was 50k

Oh; well if you can find one, it'll be a bargain at 4-5 years old.

It's got previous generation Merc C-Class lights on a body that looks like a Pug 508 with a chiselled Audi grille. This will be shed bargain in a few years just like the Honda Legend.

It's a lovely looking thing but can't see it selling well in the Uk.

It's got the wrong badge for anyone with 50k to spare on a car. Stick an Audi badge on it and a diesel lump under the bonnet and it would sell bucket loads.

Wow, really? I'd love to know the rationale behind whoever decided that was the best way to part with £50,000! biggrin

You don't think it might need Audi levels of quality, detailing and finish too..?

Looks a little Audiesque to me. I'm not sure it will do well here.

Interestingly I was recently in Dubai, and is populated with huge numbers of nice looking Kia's. Maybe this will be the next thing over there...

You think people are buying an audi for the level of quality, detailing and finish?

Why do you think reducing the quality levels of the Hyundai would help with sales?

Yes I do. I know Internet bores like to drone on and on 'knowingly' on here about how people are 'only buying the badge' and how a Ford Mondeo is exactly the same as an Audi A4 apart from the dash plastic but it's nonsense.

Audis are genuinely nice cars that, in particular, are beautifully finished. That's why they're popular, not because people go boss eyed at the badge.

If it were as easy as running a flash marketing campaign every manufacturer would be doing it, why wouldn't they?

Yeah, brilliant.
