......is so dull and boring.

The wife is ordering a new car through work - has to be an Audi. Decided on the A4 Avant - got the spec and options sorted but when it comes to colour choice, why is it they are all so dull and boring? We don't want to pay the £3k to go bespoke, but I was hoping for something a little more exciting to choose from (Renaults Liquid Yellow anyone?)

Anyway, if you were ordering a new A4, what colour would you order, keeping in mind we don't care about residuals in the slightest so could go crazy and select Teak brown!

This is only available for S-line and Black Edition only so can't have this. We are going for SE Tecknik. Volcano Red is available, but this is a dark red colour rather than something vibrant.

Yep, only black and white are free - everything else is a £645 option (although we do get a choice of any of these colours at no additional cost to us through the scheme - apart from a bit of additional BIK due to higher list price).

White, Black, Met Silver, Met Grey and Red are free.

Black, Red and Grey look best with the standard styling packs.
Silver, Red and White look best with Black Edition styling.

So, red is the best all rounder.

Get it in white. Audis look best in white, all Stormtrooperish.
(Also confirms the white goods dynamics of the thing)

Another vote for Grey - Ordered a car last year, Mrs Morgrp wanted White, I wanted metallic dark grey - persuaded her to go for the grey and its a fantastic colour

Good God what a drab range of colours. They're are pretty much the colour of a wet road at various times of year, from a light grey to a dark grey. Even the blues are a dirty, dingy, miserable January evening sort of colour.

Oddly when I was in Germany recently you see them in all sorts of normal proper colours, so this obsession with various shades of misery must be a British thing.

Shame the only way to get a green audi is to buy a white one, don't wash it and park it under a tree.

It's all about the resale when the 3 year lease deal is up and the car is handed back smile Lease deals are massively popular over here so just catering to the target market.
