engines - crappiest of them all ?

The 1.4/1.6 tdci/hdi are up there for the worst inline 4 diesel engine utterly st engine, with crap designs, badly thought out layout/ noisy/ slow and garnished with a load of issues the manufacture deny.
Another mention has to go to the 1.3cdti engine and majority of modernish Vauxhall engines.

Ironically the car upon which it was based- the sixties Fiat 125- was very avant garde and light years ahead of horrors like the Cambridge, Hunter and Victor and boasted a very sweet twin cam. Don't know hat engine was in the Polski ?
