Or if you want something similar that's not French and actually handles, how about a Mondeo V6? Ghia X with all the toys tend to be cheaper than the ST equivalent.
Um. Just found out that there's an ST200 1 mile down the road from me at £850. Slight problem that it won't start... I wonder what they'd really take for it.

Hello from Japan Mr. Opulent Bob, Thank you very much for the great compliment that you pay me, this is a great honour that humbles me! Yes I Am real, although I feel that often I am betrayed by Google translate, because I speak no English I must trust it's translation of what I type in Japanese and often I feel I am being laughed at on posts when I have not intentionally said anything funny but then maybe I am funny and don't realise! These are very comfortable cars indeed.
Last December a chap picked me up from the station in a 1996 2.1 TD Executive. It had full cream leather, heated seats, climate, etc and finished in a nice metallic burgundy. He had it from new and was now used as a tool to use around the farm. It handled really well and just soaked up the road. Would be a perfect commuter tool.
Shame that everything these days needs a minimum of 18 inch alloys and rock hard suspension.

Hear hear. It's the best thing about the car, even back then, and comparison with the current "over-tyred, over-wheeled, over-sprung" school of design, the gulf is even wider. Providing the suspension on the 406 is all in good order of course, but I think you can still get the dampers and bushes in any case.

Thats some funny stuff right there! I do wonder what the dealers are like over there, surely can't be worse than some i've seen in Luton! I've seen some articles in a Japanese magazine a long time ago, they were selling cars off for 100yen or something... wonder if that exists still!
Jumping on the end of this thread, I have a 1997 Peugeot 406 3.0 V6, manual in navy blue. Full grey leather, air con, alloys, 6 CD changer, etc - lovely car. 125k miles but full service history. New battery 2 years ago, turned over regularly and starts first time.
I took it off the road 6 years ago and it has been SORN ever since. The intention was to use something else as an everyday car, and eventually put it back on the road at a later date - but as usual, other commitments, projects, etc have got in the way.
Realistically I'm not going to have the time or the money in the near future, but in my opinion its far too good to scrap - and needs to go to an enthusiast who will appreciate it for what it is - they don't make them like this any more!
Not an advertisment as such, but more a question of where to advertise (apart from the usual AutoTrader / eBay etc), and who potentially could be interested?
Happy to provide photos, further details, etc - PM me for any more info.

Will need a bit of tinkering - I'm no expert but guess that anyone who's any good with a spanner would be able to do a basic service. No MOT at present obviously, and probably in need of 4 tyres. Still starts and runs fine - as mentioned above had a DIY oil and filter change 18 months ago.
Can supply photos, and more detailed service history if needed.
Just feel that its too good to scrap - would suit enthusiast down to the ground.
