Absolute nonsense. Taughter suspensions with altered geometry and sway bars; wider tires; upgraded brakes; faster steering racks; and a set of proper seats and other trimmings all add up to a sportier package than the base models.

That's right. Nothing says sports car to me like a diesel saloon with all the unnecessary trinkets and nothing in the way of actual performance.

Probably more suited to the misbadged thread but the Micra 160 SR is certainly not as sporty as it sounds...

Does anyone know if these actually came with a net and an umpire?

Years ago, one of my neighbours had visitors who had a Roland Garros 106. Naff name, but nice car for a little one - metallic green with cream leather inside.

It's hard to tell who's having the more unpleasant time there - the chap at the wheel or the poor lass stuck in the back.

Well, it isn't a sports car. It is a saloon with some braking and suspension upgrades, and typically much more enjoyable to drive than the base model (assuming you live in a country with proper roads).

Our X-Trail 2.2DCi is a "Sport" model, which means it gets a rear spoiler on the roof.

Never has there been a car which needed a spoiler less than a diesel X-Trail biggrin

It really is 99.99% marketing nonsense. My wife has a new 118d M Sport and it's really anything but sporty.

There used to be one around the corner from me. The owner had certainly bought into the 'sport' badge. He had fitted a big bore 'zorst and floored it everywhere.

Tool.

I have an 'amg sport' diesel coupe. Its sportier (big engine, bigger wider wheels, spoiler, body kit, wider track, different suspension/brakes) than a lot of other marques 'sport' models but its certainly no AMG. Thankfully it doesn't say AMG sport anywhere on it, it does say AMG on the wheels and the mats but that's it. Its the 3ltr engine version, I test drove the 2ltr, no idea how that could be deemed sporty, but the sport was a trim level with that engine.

I believe "sport" was the only option you could have on it.
It is not in the least bit sporty. Rapid, yes. Not sporty.

Precisely, and it isn't meant to be.

Not "Sport" but my first car, a Corsa C went by the trim name of Comfort.
Certainly anything but.
Seats felt like they were stuffed with house bricks.
