Mostly still E61s (BMW last gen 5 series estates) around here. I did get stopped by an unmarked 64 plate silver mondeo estate the other week though.

GMP, the beat cars are Hyundai i30's and Focus's. Marked traffic cars are generally BMW 5 series. Unmarked ones seen are two Audi A4's, an Audi S3 and I'm not sure whether they still have the Subarus. Also seen a couple of unmarked BMW X5's, apparently these are ARV's

Nottinghamshire had a fleet of marked Impreza STI's about 6 years ago?

Derbyshire I've seen plenty of unmarked X5's and 7 Series recently, and I know they have a 2006 Impreza as well. Its the one with the weird slanted edged spoiler. Other than that I don't think I've seen them with anything overly interesting.

Humberside used to run some great cars. They had a fleet of unmarked black Evo's from memory, and then they bought some marked something or others which were quite tasty too.

A lot of the panda cars are LPG Proton's though. Must have been cheap.

They're tediously predictable here in North London.

Astra panda cars. Insignia/ 5-series estates on the M1/ M25.

Apologies if it's been covered already, but what were those Hatton Garden sl*gs driving I wonder?

They're all Skoda Octavias around here, bloody quick though. Must be modified in some way. Undercover are normally BMW 3-Series or Land Rover Discoverys.

Down here they use mainly Holdens.

Patrol car = Evoke 3.0 V6

Divvy Van (Divisional Van) = Evoke Ute

Highway Patrol use V8 Commodores - these are semi-marked (no roof lights, no front end markings) so they can sneak up behind you

This one is fully marked up

Queensland had a fleet of HSVs (nice plates) that they used for Highway Patrol work

NSW have a tuned HSV GTS that they use as a show car - close to 670 bhp

They also have unmarked cars (again mostly Holdens) including Utes. Apart from the extra aerial (which a lot of the public have too) the only real clue is the two tiny LED lights either side of the number plates.

unmarked grey 57 plate Ford Focus ST around our way (Dorset)...catches out a lot of people locally on the A31 road near Bournemouth. TBH, I was only asking myself this question the other day "what do the police drive nowadays" as you rarely see a pursuit vehicle any more. Just the local Focus/Astra X5 type stuff.

Well yesterday I followed the local plod around baildon and bingley in w yorks: they were in an un marked dark blue 5 series bmw.

Notably never bothered to indicate at any turning or kept to any speed limit either !

Shoulda got a dashcam! The speed limit bit not so much but no indicating smacks of driving without due care and attention to me!

Some of my old ones.
my god, that brings back memories. My dads friend was a traffic cop here in south wales (based in Trecynon, Aberdare)..he'd take me over to the police station where their 850 T5 was every so often to play around with the blue lights and sirens outside lol. used to love it!

we now have new 3 and 5 series saloons and wagons, and the occasional X5. panda cars are focus's which seem to get the ragging of their sorry little lives

That was the Trecynon car. I was based there for 12 months.

I'm pretty sure all the marked traffic cars here in York are brand new X5s, the unmarked ones I think are A4s, they had marked A4s but not seen one for a while. Normal police cars all seem to be Astra estates and Transit Connects.

They were blending in, a sensibly driven 5-Series would stand out like a sore thumb!

Saw a very unassuming Dark Blue unmarked 330d (F30) pull someone over in Southampton last week, was very surprised when the blue lights came on (I was probably about 50m behind it).
