Well this last week and a bit has been sodding annoying.......i've managed to achieve 1x screw in tyre and then i managed to pick up this in the rear tyre!:

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to what it is? lol

Will be taking a pair of pliers to it tomorrow and pulling it out to see what it is, im just hoping that what ever it is isn't too long and hit the inside of the alloy and damaged it frown Tyre needed to be replaced any way just that i could of done with holding out another month so i could have the money aside to fix it rather than sticking it on the credit card.

Happened to me last week. Just as well my car has tyre pressure sensors as I find it quite difficult to spot a puncture on low profile tyres. Had to get a friend with a breaker bar to come and get the wheel off since the bolts had been machine tightened.

I'm sure a £7-10 puncture repair would take care of that no problem?

It may do, but if im honest the tyre is past its best and needs to be changed, its started to get that crazy paving look to it between the tread blocks. But its just the fact im having to replace two tyres in just over a week mad

If the tyre is that worn then it's best to replace both rears.

Already replaced the other rear tyre this week after a screw went in it right on the shoulder of the tyre and tyre place wouldn't repair it frown

So what was it?
I feel your pain, my wife got a puncture on Friday, it looked like one of those screwdriver bits that come in sets. There was about 10mm sticking out, I expected it to be about similar length inside. I was rather surprised to pull out a 150mm screwdriver!

I picked up a screw driver in a tyre on m25 near Dartford a while back

god only knows how it ended up in middle lane but it made a mess of the tyre as it shredded by the time I got to the hard shoulder from middle lane when I realised I had a flat

That's insane! Did you get any damage to the wheel arch?

I had a slow puncture last year. On removing the tyre to repair it we found a complete 8" long screwdriver inside. Weirdly that was not the cause, it was small nail.

I've only recently had my first puncture, thankfully it was on the rears which i later found out were made in 2009 so possibly been on the car a good 5 years and the thread depth was down to about 3mm! Was was happy to replace them... hopefully i don't get another too soon!

Typically I got my first puncture last year, less than two months after replacing all four tyres due to age cracking...

Unfortunately yes but I had a spare wheel arch liner and luckily no damage to paintwork which would have really been annoying as the rear arches on the Senator were mint (and that's very rare....)

What really tiddled me off was that was damn near a new tyre

Had my car 3 months.
Came out of work 2 weeks ago to a TPMS warning of a puncture. Tyre held enough air to get it to the garage and put air in to see if it was let down (been a few tyres let down by kids lately) and it did.

Checked the pressure next day and it had lost 0.1 bar and did each day (some days more)

Got to a puncture repair place, pulled the tyre off and tada. A nail had gone in between the tread and into the tyre.
The head of the nail was sealing it off depending on how it was parked.
Repaired it and all is good. Good thing too as the tyre was only 1.5k old and the 19' tyres on the car aren't cheap to replace.

I managed to find a seven inch bolt in my tyre only a few miles from transfaragasan. I was really looking forward to blasting around in the early hours before the tourists came out to take pictures. Instead I ended up nursing it to the garage. The tyre was fairly new. No spare with the elise. The repair guy was great, he shoved some rubber into the hole using a spike. It's still fully inflated 3 weeks later. Cost 10 Ron. About 2 quid.

Handy if it keeps you going but I'm pretty sure that's a temporary fix at best. Tyre is supposed to be removed and plugged from the inside with a mushroom.
