Some of those are pretty surprising. Especially when CU57 NNT is registered to a Vauxhall Meriva.

The DVLA are a useless, inconsistent, bunch of jobsworths.

Some of the number plates that have been pulled are ridiculous.

They won't allow any plates that spell Jew but will allow a plate to sell for thousands that represents a crucial figure of a different religion.

They won't allow plates with FU as that could be seen to spell F**k you but will allow multiple other plates with shortenings for other well know acronyms.

Seriously, it's a nonsense: They have a new guy there in charge of these things and I'm sure he was raised under a stone in 1920 in the deepest darkest back of beyond.

Bought C11NTS for £399 but was revoked by dvla on issue shame as it would have been a £10k plate.

and will happily sell plates that only make sense if you space them illegally or misrepresent the letters

not quite sure why WA 15 TED was banned given 'waisted' has a different meaning to 'wasted' , i'm sure there must be a corsetiere who would want the plate for either their own car or if they had a works van ...

I'm surprised that they've made a list of "offensive plates" which are mostly not that offensive, yet missed out an entire range of grossly offensive plates in the format of IS15 *** ("IS15 BOY", "IS15 BRO" etc.).

I wonder if they are going to ban RU16 YET.

I was thinking of buying a very socially unacceptable number plate and think that would fit the bill.

That will go well with an Inbetweeners-style "MOBILE VIRGIN CONVERSION UNIT" sign on the back laughlaughlaugh

They won't appear on that list as the letter "i" isn't a valid character in the current style of registrations.

'I' isn't used in our number plate formats!

Just saw this on the Reg plate thread on here. Seems a bit random how the DVLA have pulled some plates they believe are unacceptable, yet they didn't foresee something like this:

Oh, they've sold them before! FU 1 and FU 2 are both out there and FU 1 is soon to be back on a vehicle. Awesome plates if you happen to have the surname FU.

That's why it's so daft they won't release other similar ones.

Just why? Why would anyone want that on their vehicle unless they are just a plain nasty c*** themselves?
